How is handing a monopoly to a private firm enabeling them to make a profit,so bypassing a profit the mint could make directly helping the return to the treasury and so the british people? -

Well i would state if private individuals have access to coins via royal mint where the common peaple of britian don't and are able to sell them on at a margin, its a clear do know. -

apparently more than 500 million 2016 twelve sided have been stamped,now being circulated,so that answers that. -

I've only ever found one of these in my change,I found three royal coat of arms pound coins and one 2p with the feathers,its hard to believe the numbers from the mint. -
looking out for a dot to dot I came across this coin that appears to be double struck,the 1 in 10 also looks a little different.

on the other hand the mint states even though coins have legal tender,coins designed not for general circulation may not be accepted by banks and shops. http://www.royalmint.com/aboutus/policies-and-guidelines/legal-tender-guidelines

I think it comes down to HMS treasury in they honour the coin or don't.

the common Britannia 50p coin doesn't state 50p but just 50,point being is that 50p or £50? Therefore is doesn't technically fully state its denomination so must also technically not be a real coin. I wonder if they will be withdrawn?

A little check and it dose appear the mint states in black and white the coin has a denomination of 50p.

if the no denomination 4th edition battle of Britain 50p is not a coin,then why is in place in the 2015 commemorative coin sets? A question for royal mint perhaps.

thinking about it,didn't the 1977 jubilee crown have a denomination of 25p with none stamped on the coin.

perhaps then the no denomination battle of britain coin isn't legal tender like the £100 coins that do have denomination.

I think the treasury should be responsible for the denomination stamped on coins produced by the royal mint,example the £100 coin now worth only there weight in silver that being about twenty quid.

the 2011 1st edition aquatics coin was replaced but there is no replacement for the battle of Britain coin,just three types as you have pointed out.

the coin now on offer by the mint has a difference,a small cross at the base so it may make it a 1 of only ten thousand,interest. -

I wouldn't there's a guy on ebay offering them for £3.99&79p P&P to be posted within 30 days of purchase,that's the 2016 twelve sided coin not the 2015 trial. could be A rip off but in for a penny and all that,not much to lose. -

but are all 200,000 of the coins of the trial type or is that number inclusive of the twelve sided 2016 example and is the 2016 coin going to be realised along with the 2017 coin in march? -
I count 46 difference round pound coins 1983/2016 with five coins only available in sets.

i can see there is current scramble for these coins on ebay as the last round pound coin advertised by the royal mint is in effect not the last,these coins are being sold for £34 plus p&p on ebay. from what i can see the coin is being taken from the baby sets which are currently available from the royal mint for £30,i don't think they will be available for long.
