May i suggest that you either go to your local library or buy a copy of spink 2011, its the reference book for British coins and values. If you're not interested in coins or keeping what you have, then best to go to the library. Hi, I got a few book's that I'm looking at currently which my dad left, so many different grading's, was the main surprise for me. Thanks Azda

    Inherited Coins

Good Morning All, Thanks for all the pointers, I do totally understand that although I have about 140-150 coins in the collection they may only be worth between £70 - £100 for the lot. Saying that I will put up pictures of the one's of interest to myself/others as they possibly/ maybe hold "a little value", however as I look further into this subject it has become a very interesting one to say the least. Not saying that, if a few of them that turn out to be worth something I may be open to offers, if there not then I see a nice collection being built up, using the coins already in place as a good starting point. I have a collection of key dates, which over this weekend I will be studying the coins I have. I also have an 1818 penny that I'm going to be looking closely at due to some pointers I've picked up. Thanks for all the advise, and thats worth something any way. Look's like I may be busy uploading this weekend :D
  4. Hi Azda, What is the finer details on this coin to look out for? as i have one of these at home in slightly better condition than the one in the pictures you've posted here??

I doubt if it's a proof set. They issued PVC packs of business coins, many of which may now have gone gloopy. All i know is they are in a plastic sealed case, extremely shiny never been taken out, and dated 1953.... pardon my inexperience, Azda, yeah i will post the penny's

    Inherited Coins

Hi, I will put a list on-line, as you have suggested to start with, as you say to upload all the coins double sided may take some time, although I will at some point do this as to help with the condition query's. I agree about the monitory value's, as you have stated, I am currently researching the various coin sites to get a rough ball park figure. Many Thanks

Hi Azda Thank you very much for the quick response and information given. I will be uploading pictures as soon as possible, and of the highest quality I can, to assist with anybody wishing to view them. Do you advise to put up the 46 & 49 three pence coins to as they are limited mint and VG condition??

    Inherited Coins

Good Morning, I have just inherited a coin collection from my late father, I have in approximation of 140 coins, in various dates, mainly pennies, and half pennies. I also have Florins, Crowns, half crowns, Three pence (brass 1946 & 49, un circulated good condition), 3 pence coin "maundy" money although the date escape's me at the moment (which I will update I'm sure it's from the 1920's Good condition) and a set of 1953 un circulated coronation coins. The overall condition of the pennies aren't fantastic, although some of them are in good condition. I also have a 1919 Heaton mint George V Penny, 1918 KN George V penny, 1919 KN George penny. basically I'm looking for advise on value's with the possibility of putting them up for sale. Any advise would be grateful
