Hiya guys, i have a bag of coins which were my grandfathers. I havent a clue how much there worth or anything else. I have listed some of them on ebay as of today for 1 week if you wanna have a look at those ones (user id is katyme4u). Trouble is, im using an alcatel mobile to take pics and they arent very clear. Anyway, I have 3 queen victoria coins/sovereigns??? One is roughly 2cm diameter(same size as the 1957 shilling i have), dated 1887, jubilee head, reverse has a shield with 4 sections, top left is the 3lions, top right lion rampant,bottom left is a harp and bottom right is the three lions again. Its silver in colour...but it looks as though someone has made a keyring out of it as it has a hole to the top left of the heads crown. Is it worth my while putting it on ebay lol? The next coin has the old head, 1897, gold, george slaying the dragon on the back, looks in pretty good nick ie not very many scratches and no notches around the edges. Its about 1.5cm diameter. I believe thats a sovereign. From what i have seen it appears to be worth about £100 but i dont really know...problem being i dont have a good camera and cant really list it anywhere as i dont know how to describe its condition lol..the last coin is probably 1cm diameter, silver colour, old head (appears slightly worn on her veil, gold coin has much more detail on it than this one)dated 1897 with a crown and the number 3 under it. Im guessing this is a three pence of some sort since its the same size as the 1938 three pence i have. Im going to try an upload pics if i can, after i type this, though they arent very clear. Basically, whats a rough estimate of their worth? How do i describe them? Would i be better taking it to someone? I have no idea who or where....a jewellers?? Dont think we have a coin place anywhere near me. Any input is much appreciated and thanks in advance

Hiya, yeah it was a half sovereign however she said it weighed 3 point something grams when i had read that gold half sovs like that one, weighed 4.3grams(she didnt turn the scales around for me to see)....she was trying to pull a fast one lol. My measurements are just guesses, didnt have(couldnt find) something to measure with. I think the big silver one that has the hole in it is a full sovereign size but im guessing, again. The refinery(britishgoldrefinery) wouldve gave me £130ish for it, but that wouldve needed posted and so just took it to the gold(rip off merchants)place. Thanks all

Thanks Peckris...need to try and find someone who can loan me a decent camera. Im not really too bothered about the silver, im clearing out alot of things and have no intention of collecting coins so either i try and sell the silver ones for whatever they may or may not go for or keep them and pass them down...and maybe they will be worth more to someone else in another few hundred years lol...the other coins i have on ebay arent probably worth anything either, some shillings,half pennies, crowns and three pences. I wont try and sell the gold one without doing it justice Thanks very much for your quick reply
