Seems a bit patronising, especially the budget part which itself is flawed. You assume that adults have great disposable income to spend on coins, which many don't. It's good so far, but tweaks are needed.

By the way we could merge the forum if you want to make it easier and more active with less competition pm me on My forum I suggested that earlier

You may like to rethink some of your prices. Nobody would pay £40 for a fine 1967 half crown.

    A volunteer needed

If it wasn't GCSE year, I'd jump at the chance. From now on though, the workload is going to get heavier and heavier so I don't think I could really afford the time to do it. Thanks for the offer but I'm sadly going to have to decline.

Why don't you merge your forums and both become admin?
  7. I ordered one of the new 6gb Ipod Minis in blue yesterday. Do any of you have one, what are they like? Some of my friends have them and say they're good.

Great start, Chris! I look forward to seeing the end result. Spotted a typo - first page "preceeding" only has one e.

I think you mean vulnerable; venerable means impressive due to age. Oxidation
  11. Web-portals are the bane of my life. I don't particularly like Russians. I have never heard of any famous Russian entertainers. Russia itself seems quite backward in comparison with western Europe. These are my thoughts.

    Chavs!

The Sun kept reflecting off all the gold and jewels so they had to be done away with for that picture. Moments later I was clad in ermine and precious metal, have no fear.

Perhaps I should post one of myself to dispel some myths. ...moments later: ok here I am sitting on a bridge over the Seine in Paris, with considerably shorter hair than I have now. Definitely NOT that person above.

In average circulated condition, it will be worth around £1. If you register, you can post a picture so we can assess the grade more accurately.
  19. Can you give us a link, we could probably grade it from the photos?
  20. Well we can eliminate a 3 or a 5 because the alignment for George IV farthings was changed in 1826. Some crap probably just got caught up in the die.

    Expect a hefty price tag...
  22. Looks more like a filled die to me.

    RMS Douro

Looks like it's just sovereigns. But look, some fools are still mounting them.
  24. Found on Lawrence Chard's website: We discovered in October 2004, that the new 2005 design will be a re-worked and stylised* version of the traditional St George & Dragon design which has been used on sovereigns, with a few breaks, since 1817. The silver crown issued in 1935 for the Silver Jubilee of George V featured a stylised deco version of St. George and the dragon, which is sometimes called the "rocking horse crown". Although we were not around when it was issued, we can guess that it was not universally popular when it was issued, and opinion is still divided about its artistic and aesthetic merits. The Isle of Man also produce sovereigns with a St. George and dragon design, or a Viking and dragon, these seem to be popular. *oh dear God no. The last time I heard stylised was with the 2003 Coronation anniversary £5
