Cool! I hope you get one of the jazzy gold ones. -
This isn't the British Royal Mint, it's the Somalian Mint. To Chris, CIA World Factbook. GDP per capita is a paltry $500. edit: It looks like it was possibly an Italian colony, I think the Italians landed there when they invaded Abysinnia.

Don't think so. I think I'll push you over the edge with this (worst portrait I've seen for a while), and this.

I bought a copy of "English Silver Coinage" off eBay and it arrived today. I got it for a knockdown £2.76 plus postge. Overall, it was under a fiver! It's the newest edition in tiptop condition and I'm going to have fun flicking through it!

I've been thinking about the direction of my collection an in the next year I hope to: 1) Buy at least two Maundy sets. I have my eye on a 1902 set on Andy's site at the moment 2) Branch out into foreign gold - the French 20F Rooster and the later Swiss 20F. What do you want to complete this year?

It's 1903, actually. 1902 must have been a typo or something. I've kinda got my eye on it but I don't want to reserve it or anything.

"JEW PENNY" GERMAN STATES?
Emperor Oli replied to CRAIGSD's topic in Enquiries about Non British coins
There are early 19th-century small copper coins, known as Jew pfennigs, whose origin nobody knows with certainty. They were privatley issued for speculation and circulated until 1823 when Frankfurt banned them. As far as I know, the name has nothing to do with jews themselves - it's not some kind of jew-exclusive money. I think yours is the one below... -
There's another ending in about four days if you check his other items. I imagine it will go for around the same price.

eBay has run fine for me, I've had no problem with anything bar one slow-to-return buyer. -
I hope the Saltford coins site comes fully live soon, I'm dying to see it!

Is the Pope a moslem?
-
A rhetorical question?

Firstly, identify the variety. It will either have an elephant below Charles' bust, or there will be nothing there. If you can post a picture, it would help enormously, but if it's as good as you say, it could be worth around £800. Non-collectors say there is no wear when in actual fact there is quite a lot, so pics would help.

Looks like an ex-jewellery piece to me - fine or thereabouts

Wow! What a price!

Chinese Cash Coins I said instinctively, but why would there be Chinese coins in the ground of the UK. I think Chris has got the right idea, but I don't know how big the plugs are compared to the rest of the coin
