I set up this thread so we don't clutter up the boards with more "Should I buy this" "What do you think of this" -type threads. So, as the subtitle suggest, I am going to enquire about a coin Do you think the marks around Britannia's knee are just from the photo or actually on the coin?
-
OT - Wanted to say "hello"

Hmm apparently it is. Oh well I don't do Victorian coins! -
What do you collect?
Emperor Oli replied to Aethelred's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I collect Farthings 1902-1956 BU. I'm also onthe book team and I've just seen the first twenty pages and they are most definitely not to be sniffed at! -

Top 10 favourite coins in your collection...
Emperor Oli replied to Master Jmd's topic in Free for all
Good God, that Guinea is fantabulous! -
It would be "Who is you favourite King and Queen?" King - Charles II/George III Queen - Elizabeth I

There isn't much difference but recently the quality gap has been phenomenal. A week or two ago there was someone auctioning off a truckload (on ebay.com) of the best examples of many english coins which I have ever seen - some of them I could have sworn were restrikes.
-
I truly thought that what I was doing was correct but if you can't see that then we shall have to "agree to disagree". p.s Starting with a conjuction isn't bad grammar, it's just non-standard english which draws the reader's attention to it
-
Well let's put this argument to bed, shall we? Multus sanguis fluit
-
"Why take the time to reply". As I said, because you asked a question. Questions need answers and that is what I was giving. My grammar has been terribly sloppy before, equal to that of your reading skills and cognitive powers for not picking it up
-
I haven't broken my own rule, Sylvester. You asked a question, whether it be a rhetorical one, one could see it either way. I was simply replying to it as would anyone when confronted with a question; not to reply would be rude and positively heinous. It was not a "banal" post as you put it, for this reason. Yes my grammar was terrible but what can be expected at a quarter to eleven?

I thought you were merely stating was that what HPJ said was what you had said some time previously.
-
You sound just like a textbook, HPJ!
-
You haven't upset me, but you just have now by asking what you have done when if you had taken the time to look back at the previous post, Sylvester asked if he had said what you had said, which I said he had.

My Spanish oral questions rattled my cage. eg. ¿Dónde pasaste las vacaciones el año pasado? Seventeen questions like that! Ugh I'm on number nine so I'm nearly finished.
-
Probably, some people here have a habit of repeating things.
-
You haven't been "on the circuit" for five years though I'm just pulling your leg really
-
And you base this knowledge on..............
-
I wasn't serious about buying it, Chris! I think it is a ridiculous amount to pay for a book. Does anyone know why they haven't done a reprint or just made an electronic version? p.s HPJ, there might not be one around for Christmas!
-
Hands off, it's mine!

Whats your top 3 favourite films?
Emperor Oli replied to Master Jmd's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
It wasn't you I was getting at, HPJ, it was JMD -
I thought that. I won't buy it then, I'll wait for a better example. That number JMD put up does indeed hae a gigantic stain below his ear.
