    The London coin Fair

There is no terrorist risk to a Coin faiar in London. No intelligent (not that many of them are) terrorist would attack it when he/she could attack somewhere which would gain huge publicity e.g Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus etc.

    Some really ridiculous eBay listings

A talking piece perhaps? That's all it's good for after all!

    Some really ridiculous eBay listings

I've seen odd auctions for £1 supposedly held by "famous" (and I use the term loosely) people like those off the set of Eastenders. There was no COA with it so it could have been from anywhere: still people bid! It went for over £40!

    Some really ridiculous eBay listings

    That's more humourous than ridiculous!

It's not actually Chris' book though, it's been compiled by many people

Oh right MJMD said it was Mr JMD so I was looking for that!

    Erm no it isn't!

I've added about six farthings from Cooke. JMD could be Jebedia Mildred Dougal - but let's not get into hypothesis about this!

    1925 half penny

Grade it for yourself, don't rely on theirs!
  11. God knows - I just prefer her as a monarch. She did much more than Victoria did...
  12. Emperor Oli

Do you think it is worth it?

Because it's not a purposeful thing methinks, it's just through handling etc.
  13. Emperor Oli

Read this first if new here.

Now's not the time to worry about precise details - if Chris can do anything to limit the number of pages used I'm confident he will

    1925 half penny

Ooh I wouldn't call that a minor flaw I'd call it a pretty major flan flaw. Don't bid IMHO!

Do you think it is worth it?

I think it's "impaired". Taking the example of the visually impaired, where their sight is not very good, it probably means a proof with some minor problems....
  16. Me too Sylvester! My favourite is the Jubilee head then the Gothic. My fave effigy though is George IV because it seems so animated and ugh I can't describe it - it's wonderful!

    1901 penny

Looks ok but I'd wait for a nice BU one to come along - you might as well buy the best!

Hard luck, MJMD. There'll be another on Ebay soon if not now I would think!

    Some really ridiculous eBay listings

    I don't think £999 is a second mortgage!
  22. I went on the Coincraft site in order to email them and ask if they are going to publish a new catalogue, like the 2000 edition. And then I got a free copy of "The Phoenix" whatever that is. I shall report back with results!

    Layout and design

That's one of the best ideas I've heard. Setting it to calculate the mean would also save you a helluva lot of work. Plus if you could set it to log the highest and lowest that would be interesting for us but you couldn't put it in the book.

    Rotograpic.co.uk

Neither, there's enough work as it is!
