No, as chris says, put it out for scrap

    Have a Great Easter!

No, it's not still in my family as they left Germany during the 1930s ('36 I think, after the remilitarisation of the Rhineland) and came over to England with buckets o' cash

I know another word begining with E

Really? From small acorns grow mighty oaks eh?

    Have a Great Easter!

I guess you mean Prince but hey. The would-be Emperor of Austria-Hungary is also that way now - not grand at all. However, my great grandparents did own a large estate up there so it ain't all bad!

Ebay also floated itself on the market - maybe this site should do the same

    Have a Great Easter!

FYI I have noble German blood in my veins! My great grandparents were the Count and Countess of a place near Lauenberg which is near Kiel in the north
  8. Yes, it's not a seedy jazz mag as the name would suggest but a hilarious magazine, published bimonthly I think. I strongly urge you to buy it - it's only £1.30!
  9. Just look what the Mint has issued now. The first British platinum coin, a piedfort issue and £2995 to boot!
  10. There's not many Coin publications out there - Token Publishing seems to have cornered the niche market
  11. The Coronet is nice but it weighs 25kg and god knows how much more full. You'd have to move it around on a sack truck!

  13. What's Coin News like? I got a trial issue but didn't really rate it - what do you think? I did however take out a subscription to the Private Eye and that has me in stitches

It might be Chris fiddling about with stuff - "pruning" you posts as well

Its a good idea but look how little they have for sale. Little sites like that simply don't have the customer volume needed to generate large stocks for sale and, therefore, there is less to buy.
  17. I would have thought the Stanley Gibbons folders would be ok because they do actually deal in coins so they must know a little about them! I used to have a folder but the pages started to sag out of it so I switched to a charming cabinet.
  18. Ahh yes with a bigger picture it looks crap plus the second link is selling it as a fantasy piece so I reckon it's a fake
  19. Hmm the engraver isn't the same as the English one (He was called T Humphrey Paget) but that's probably something and nothing as we have different portraits for the Channel Islands etc. One thing however, the legend on it isn't complete. The English one reads: "EDWARDVS VII D:G BR OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP" however this could also be a Canada-England variant. I don't have a price to hand but C$199 or £82.55 for a mintage of 560 seems quite reasonable Hang on a minute, the auction finished on 17th March......are you wasting our time?
  20. When I was doing my work experience at the stockbroker's, they had lots of stock certificates hung on the wall and I remarked how exquisite they were. So now I'm thinking I might like to get into scripophily (that is the collecting of share certificates, bonds etc.) Does anybody on here collect them and have any pointers? I want them mainly for their visual delight rather than monetary value but, you know, it helps!
