Hahaha - I was a would-be Mod (born too young ) and a bit too old for credibility in the late 70s resurgence. I did have a Lambretta though, and I've always preferred the Small Faces to Gene Vincent. I've always loved The Who too but they weren't real Mods, they were a temporary creation of their then-manager. Having said that, My Generation was the first punk rock album, the first heavy metal album, the first Art Rock album .. not bad for a group being passed off as Mods!

You're not a Mod are you, Peck? I loved the Jam and Selector! Was never that fussed by The Who, but had a couple of squirrel tails once? Alert, Alert, Alert...only a nurse can say this (hopefully)? I'll get my coat!

A 1933 penny sale would've been all over the world news, and would've made significantly more than £80k, surely? It would be an ultimate acquisition for the princes and monarchs of bottomless pockets! The general public wouldn't even get to sniff it IMHO!

Yes, there's 49 busts in all, but a few extra will be added to highlight the break-up of the punches. For example there's the crumbling crown of bust 1H and the significant chunk of hair missing from bust 1F - only just spotted that!

I can't see it, sorry! Possibly a poorly double stamped (partially rotated) second 5? Looking at the first of the two fives it's looking like there was something going on with the punch anyway? -

I've only just realised, when cutting bust 1F out, that the topmost curl at the back of the head has broken away somewhere between the Cross-Crosslet and the Martlet/Pheon, which means nearly all the sixpences will be with the broken curl. Anyway, it would be relatively easy to date the fracture from the bust usage across the groats and the 6ds! One day!
