Oh, I'm really glad to see them gathered up in 'handfuls' and neatly stacked in 'piles' upon sheets of acidy old newspaper!

Wow, just listened to the links! What a fabulous voice, I'd say he actually does give Pavorotti a run for his money! Crikey, I've still got goosebumps! -

And I wasn't fully conversant with Thatcher's yard without good reason. Now that's very interesting, because your voice reminded me of someone I knew in the South-West...is that your heritage, then, Rob? I remember you saying you routinely called in at the cider farm in Sandford (which is walking distance from where I grew up), but can't recall the link? Work, wasn't it? -

Croydon is a great auction for bargains and rarities, but grading is most definitely not their forte! -

You didn't sound Mancunian when I spoke to you from the Sainsbury's carpark in Weston-Super-Mare! -
Hard to say re visibilty, but I did get bidders AND buyers from Japan, US, and Canada. Whether they were searching for UK coins on the co.uk site or not, I don't know? To be honest, I've never really worried about the visibilty thing, as I believe that anyone looking for UK coins would check the UK site, as I would check out French eBay if looking for French coins.

I've just sold a batch of coins, WITHOUT the global thing, and all went as usual, with people politely requesting 'do you post to Japan,' etc. I think it worked perfectly well before...a shame eBay has complicated matters, just to further line their pockets! I'm sure they're already working out how they can become a monarch of a country, sorry, empire, in their efforts to dominate the world, sorry, universe!

I have to say, I DO like the 'clean' feel of your website, sound, really sharp! Good job!

A lovely coin, but very surprised to find this a CGS AU, especially when looking at the reverse. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-UNC-1754-Farthing-CGS-UK-graded-and-encapsulated-CGS70/151520721813?_trksid=p5411.c100167.m2940&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140131123730%26meid%3Db163a1f0eab446b8bc5452b3a4156c3b%26pid%3D100167%26prg%3D20140131123730%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D231416917447

Certainly not a HAMMERED coin! Looks to be an ugly seamed edge copy!

Most of the forum members are educated enough to resist the promises of Nigel Farage I hope... You're safe there, chKy! I've very little interest in politics, and have only voted twice in my life! However, I'd queue for the rest of my life in the rain, if my vote ever counted against THAT party getting even a sniff of power! -
Infinitely better, I'd say!

1745 Shilling Overdate ?

5 for me! -
Lancasters are 4-propped planes! I was curious about the flying fighter planes, perhaps they were ME109s? They're definitely not Spitfires, but could be hurricanes at a very imaginative push?I think the sky scene are meant to represent the Luftwaffe? Not sure though? Def two spits on the ground though! They can't be fighters though, not flying in that bomber formation - unless they were trying to confuse Fighter Command! I'm proposing that the twin-engined planes are Dornier bombers, and the single-engined planes the ME109 fighter escort?

Is it denomination specific, or have you found it across all coins?

I wish, Rob! Would really enjoy your company, I'm certain! I'm convinced our paths will cross at some point soon, and I very much look forward to it! With fair warning I can stock up on a couple of nice varietal local ciders and take you up the Sharpness canal for Sunday lunch at Slimbridge or Hardwicke (new refurb going on there at the moment by a very good local businessman) to shake it all off! -
