  1. The bottom coin is an evasion, but is the top coin within tolerance? No image posted

    Bar top ideas?

The bottle top guy was using US tops which are mostly twist off. UK crown cork bottle tops have top be levered off causing an unavoidable crease.
  3. If you're interested in toy and micro money, have a look here. It's a collecting area I'm giving up on. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/bagerap/m.html?item=162445439756&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

    1845 Maundy penny

They acknowledge your cabinet's kind offer, but regret that they must decline. The twopence said that she would not wear fur for ethical reasons. The threepence looked amazed and asked what she was talking about. Twopence replied: " I asked fourpence if we should accept the invitation to Mr Peter's cabinet in Suffolk" and she said "Suffolk! Wear the fox hat"

If he's not getting feedback, then it's a pound to a 1933 penny that he's shilling most of his auctions.

    1773 halfpenny

Thanks Rob. I thought it might be my balance but I checked it with a sovereign weight and it's true. I ran about 30 1770s 1/2d through the test and most came out at around 8.3 gr.

    Mystery coin! Please identify??

The lion rampant is similar to that of Czech/Bohemian coins and possibly Belgian. The whole thing has an appearance the far predates 1920 so maybe it's a medal or commemorative restrike. Could we have the diameter and weight please?
  13. bagerap

    Hammered coin?

Others will know better than I but the general symmetrical roundness of the coin and its interior circle make me think that it could be a modern restrike.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

If you read his CCF thread he bought it from a local dealer. On Etsy, it is "Acquired from a tightly held private collection"

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Not ebay, but Etsy this time. The vendor, on Coin Community Forum, is asking for confirmation of type and price: https://www.etsy.com/listing/488276578/1888-victoria-jubilee-bust-type-wide Possibly should have asked before listing it.

    1842 commemoration coin or medal

OK, you're doing well. I'm guessing that the other side of the medal is a bust of Prince Albert facing left. It's an interesting piece in that most of the medals were issued for the opening of the Exchange rather than the first stone. Even so, in this condition, the price tops out at around £15.

    1842 commemoration coin or medal

There are quite a few varieties from 7 mm up to 55 mm diameter. Size and weight are going to be a great help whiile you figure out the pictures

I'm on a few forums with Augsberger, I'll fire off a message tomorrow. I'm not sure if he's still working in China, but if he is it may take a few days to get an answer.

    Does anyone recognise this coin.

Not all vasilopita have Greek lettering. Very few in fact. The British Sov. was and still is a popular motif for these coins and they were usually produced with an impossible date such as 1907 on a bust of George V.
