So, RBS stays open in Scotland but pays tax in London?

Do these *&%£$%s even pay tax?

A poll yesterday http://barker.co.uk/scotlandpoll gives SNP 53.9% for Yes. The weighting might be a bit suspect, but it's looking more and more like a done deal. I've got only one prediction, Salmond to be replaced by Nicola Sturgeon within a very short time after a Yes vote.

I'm leaning towards reverse 2, but it's such a scrub coin that it's hard to discern. Thoughts?

After three days of indifferent weather, today's final display was magnificent. The Red Arrows roared over the house at 100 feet (as I found out later) while I sat all unsuspecting on the flat roof. Very close to underwear change time. The show seen from the beach was fabulous, as each aircraft had the freedom and height not available on the three previous days. Apart from the Lanc, the Dak and the Flying fortress the other real highlights were the unbelievable howl of the Typhoon as it beat up the bay and the Heritage Flypast. The Hunter, Canberra & Sea Vixen.

WANTED 11 decent players

I feel your pain. Even with the Mighty Redknapp as manager the Super Hoops are far from being Premiership quality ( or anyways super if it comes to it ). In fact the way we're playing, we'd struggle in the Championship. -

If you hadn't noticed, ebay's changing it's price structure for private sellers next Monday. Probably the best thing is that their doing away with the "100 free auction only listings per month provided the start price is less than £1" option. So with a bit of luck that'll weed out a good percentage of the unsaleable grot that currently clogs up the pages. A new flat fee insertion rate of £0.35 will also keep the s***e levels down too. "Every month you’ll get to list up to 20 items in any category (excluding Motors) for free - these free listings can be in auction or fixed price format and can have any start price · Every month you’ll get to schedule up to 20 of your listings for free - this means you choose when they go live · Insertion fees after your first free 20 listings will be £0.35 per listing" So in effect there could be a potential 80% fewer washers, road kill coins and Christmas cracker rejects appearing.

I've just looked through my payments received from Paypal since 2010. Works out to just over 1,000. That's 1000+ email addresses of coin buyers. Take out 30-35% for repeat customers, that's still around 650 potential buyers. Now I'm a lazy bugger, but once I've worked out an easy way to harvest the addresses from Outlook, I can feel some bulk mailings about to happen.

Ain't that the truth!

It seems that you can opt out of the Global Shipping Program, but ebay will probably have a way of turning you into a 2nd tier seller if you do.

From Martin Lewis, moneysavingexpert.com Seller fees are hiked this week - list now to beat the higher charges Unfortunately eBay's about to increase the fees it charges sellers, particularly for premium listings which include sales-boosting bells and whistles like bigger pictures and subtitles. Yet list items now and you'll only be charged the old fees. Increase in premium listing charges The first of two price hikes comes in on Thu 14 Aug. It'll substantially increase the cost of premium listings, which include optional upgrades such as 'gallery plus' (which improves the size and quality of pics), subtitles, a listing designer and a 'buy it now' option for auction sales. For auctions and 3-10 day 'buy it now' listings, the price of 'gallery plus' will increase from 95p to £2.50, adding a subtitle from 35p to £1 and the listing designer from 7p to 30p. The cost of adding 'buy it now' to an auction is currently tiered according to the price set. For items between 99p and £4.99 it's 10p, for £5 to £14.99 it's 20p, for £15 to £24.99 it's 30p and anything £25 or more is 50p. This'll become a flat rate fee of 50p, regardless of listing price. The fee for setting a reserve price for an auction will rise from 3.5% to 4% of the sale price. For 30-day 'buy it now' listings, the cost of the listing designer will increase from 21p to 30p. However the 'gallery plus' fee will drop from £2.85 to £2.50 and adding a subtitle will cost £1, down from £1.05. Final value fee cap to increase to £250 The second price change comes in on Mon 1 Sept - it affects the final value fee paid on both basic and premium listings and will mean a big hike for higher value items. The cap on the final value fee (the 10% cut you give eBay of the final sale price, including p&p) will rise from £75 to £250. So anyone selling an item worth more than £750 will pay a lot more.

If anyone's coming to the Bournemouth Festival this year, I could be persuaded to buy them a pint.

I had a warehouse in Building 521 at Heathrow, facing the main runway. Every morning Speedbird 1 (Concorde) would go barreling down the runway and work would stop. It didn't matter how many times you'd seen it or how long you'd been around aircraft. One of the PanAm guys was a veteran of Croydon Airport, and he watched too. Even better was to watch it come in to land at night in winter, preferably over Hounslow Heath. Enormous gouts of flame pouring from the engines. Spectacular.

It's 3.45 now Rob. Strange time to be awake. Maybe I should find myself a hobby?

New 'three pound twelve' coin, spots on side? Advice please

The black looks to be treated verdigris, so I tweaked your picture a bit: I think there is a residue of verd as shown, so take precautions. Good news is that it's still a £40 weight. More on a good day with a following wind. -
It's going to be a bit special.

Since last year, we've built an extension with a large section of flat roof. Strangely like a south facing viewing platform, and at just the right height to see over the trees and out to sea. Our neighbour goes that little bit further. She books a seafront hotel room with a balcony each year, so we'll be joining her for at least one day, maybe two.

Declan & Stu, we have our own little Air Festival down here in Bournemouth in August. Nothing much just Red Arrows Battle of Britain Memorial Flight with two Lancasters Eurofighter Typhoon Avro Vulcan XH558 Canberra XH134 and just about every form of helicopter available. The Arrows are here for all four days, and it's free!
