In the sixties (yes I do remember them, God help me) there was a vague public awareness of KN pennies but not much else. Certainly no press interest. I can't even recall seeing wanted ads for pre 1920 silver until the early 70s.

Task manager is reached by pressing Ctrl, Shift Esc simultaneously. Ctrl, Alt, Del closes everything down. -
This could be the result of poor quality control of the Indian mints (a proud tradition which continues to this day). Nearly all Indian error coins show signs of heavy circulation, as long as it's spendable: use it. But I have seen plenty of forged Eddy rupees and half rupees. I think this may well be one of them, general overall mushiness and the position of the lettering with regard to the bust.

We have 7 & 8. I have 7 and love it. My wife, who is the household tech genius, has 8. And hates every minute of the time she has to use it. Her opinion of it is unprintable although she concedes that it does have some merit in hand-held applications.

At Blackbushe Airport Sunday market there is sometimes a very scruffy small stall, run by a very scruffy small man who knows a bit about coins. Rarely has anything above fine but his prices are realistic. He also has a fair bit of London Mint/ Westminster Mint/ Pobjoy tat that he always describes as cr*p and prices it accordingly. In short, he's honest, knowledgeable and cheap. And you don't get many of those these days.

It was in the late 60s, maybe very early 70s. Sometime early in the morning, just about dawn, we were lined up at traffic lights and the police driver leant over and said "how fast are those anyway?" The upshot was that we both bombed along the A40 from Hillingdon Circus to Hoovers in Perivale. at which point I backed off. Discretion being the better part of not getting nicked, but I had about 15 mph advantage over him most of the time. -

As a young man with lamentably few driving skills and arguably too much money I owned a Sunbeam Tiger which had a Ford V8 lump. .Great on the straight but useless on a curve unless you had a bag or two of cement atop the rear axle. Had a wonderful burn up with a police Daimler Dart on the Western Avenue, which I politely let him win. -
