  1. Low grade and I do not think I have posted this here before (same coin, different backgrounds). Have I attributed this correctly (D&H Lancashire 44) - one for @Rob perhaps?. If so it is rated RR by D&H
  2. Getting more and more into these, a recent addition:
  3. Finding it very hard to represent what it looks like in hand, and of course this changes massively with lighting and angles in any case! 1937 crown attempt

    Coin Photos

I am no expert but have spent many hours trying to get results that I am happy with. For me, capturing the toning and eye appeal as it is in hand, is the primary objective. Here is an example of a 1918 HC I am happy with, photos-wise, a different coin to yours of course. It has the same 'life' and 'depth' as when I view it in the raw:
  9. I will display the full matched set at some point, for now these are the next few:
  10. Yes, that would put me off too, becomes a lottery and/or leap of faith. What copper lot did you win?
  11. One I acquired a few months back, just wanted to point out the PENNEY error!
  12. Plenty of high grade copper tokens went at the Baldwins of St James's auction today, mainly ex Baldwins vault, anyone nab some? Prices were strong in the main for top grades with lustre.
  13. Pressing on with more coins in this set, which I must say seem to be near FDC

    1912 penny

Hi Anthony, would love to see pics of that one please?
  17. My pic of the Sandwich token, the best of the three
  18. Thanks, yes I did! I had no idea that the Tenterden area was a major shipbuilding naval port until the rivers silted up. Sandwich one has the Cinque Ports Coat of Arms.
  19. My partner lives in Folkestone, I got them online when I got back
  20. 3 newbies acquired this week, all Kent tokens from places I visited last weekend
  21. My comment was 'tongue in cheek', it's fabulous!
