    1687 Crown on eBay

Thin flan aside, I guess on eye appeal grounds alone I am massively turned off. Lots of gaps in James II for me, and I am sure I am not alone!

    1687 Crown on eBay

Who in their wildest dreams would grade this as EF (CGS 60) and give it a valuation of £3000? Unless I am missing something??

    My Latest Acquisition

VF or better for me, but fields reveal strong cleaning I'm afraid

    What's this?

    Welcome back Chris! @Peckris
  5. I'm not saying a word (lol)
  6. Well that should ensure a bidding war then!

    Adjustment lines or not?

    Posted in wrong place, moved
  10. OK so this is milled, but I'm still sticking it in the hammered section! I've always believed the lines on the obverse to be adjustment lines, but some have suggested that it's likely that they are in fact lines to deface the king's portrait made by an anti-royalist. What do people think?

    Adjustment lines or not?

Thanks Stu, no apparent 'reduction lines' on your sixpence!
  12. Welcome to the Forum BS, probably just stamped with someone's initials post-production, but pictures will help?
  13. It should be .500 silver so maybe write it off as a fake, we know not why! Genuine high grade examples of these are available for a few pounds ...

    A Quick Hello

Welcome TP, keep any mistakes to a minimal financial impact and you will be fine! Just run things past this great Forum until you are confident to go solo! Exactly how I started 9 or so years ago
  15. As you say, a real one would weigh 14.1g, so the other one will not be the real deal Welcome to the Forum NCC

    New 5 pound note

My advice - just drop it and concentrate on coins!
  17. Bath farthing token - weird sizing of the date numbers but normal for the issue perhaps!
  18. Indeed so, but they don't often get much of an airing whatever the reign - unless they are yours or Conder tokens!
  19. So nice to see so many halfpennies being posted!
