  1. That's a very good point Gary - so even those 'contemporary' cases from, say, 1906, weren't issued with the coins?
  2. This is my OT 1854, the colon after the R on the reverse is also very low (lower than the example in your pics?). It has been slabbed and authenticated, hope it helps (a bit) even if it's not a PT!
  3. Hi

I'm interested in the 1888 groat you have listed on eBay (UIN 31693) - what's the very best you could do outside of eBay?

  4. I'm assuming it's a half crown? I love this design, it's my avatar
  5. Boy those are nice examples! DH 63-70 inclusive is York, so 8 different designs + varieties
  6. Lovely coin, auction win?
  7. Yes I have loads with ships on, here's my Liverpool example (there are many many varieties of this one!)
  8. Recent addition, this is a Gosport (Hampshire) halfpenny Conder token
  9. This is D&H Yorkshire 64, or 64a if it has a plain edge. Regarded by D&H as very rare (64a) or scarce (64)
  10. Paint.net - it's free and brilliant
  11. Thanks Rob, here's my example, that I'm wondering about. I think I'm in the 45/45 camp ...
  12. Hoping someone can shed some light ... Bull/ESC lists the 45/45 variety (ESC 1686 (604A)) but not the 45/3, while Spink lists the 45/3 but not the 45/45 - do both exist, are the both the same but with a different 'interpretation', or is there a mistake in 1 of these reference books?
  13. Lovely Rob, My gunmoney halfcrown example happens to be May 1690 also
  14. The first of this week's newbies (farthing)
  15. The more common 'shield in garter' (S. 3808) type, my 1821 covers off the 'garnished shield' type (S. 3807)
  16. There's certainly some great tokens on offer here, please lay off the Kent ones, particularly Folkestone!
  17. New this week, 1790 Scotland Lothian Edinburgh Halfpenny Conder Token, D&H 23
  18. Just won the 1823 half crown
  19. Middlesex Halfpenny Conder token D&H 319c, a little off-centre but nice toucan! Circa 1790s. Obverse reads "TO . THE . CURIOUS . OBSERVERS . OF . NATURAL . PHENOMENA."
  20. Pretty North Wales Halfpenny Conder token, new this week
