  1. Quick David - before he changes his mind, find out what he will pay for it!! £8.99. I wanted it and now it's mine. Another one to add to my cracked die collection.
  2. With what fakers can and do produce these days it's time we start to talk about it more. we need to get to know what they are and have faked. We could with regular members swap any fake coins we have so pepole get to know the look/feel and then pass it on with permission of the owner. There could be a data base so the coin swap will keep track of coins being swapped around so it can be returned to the owner if requested.
  3. It scares me!!!!!! Could we not set up a forum just for fake coins so if new one show up the word can get out quickly.
  4. Hi. I love coins with errors. Die cracks, blobs, double strikes etc i don't care if it isn't how it should be then i like some others will collect it. I would pay more fore an example with an error so yes to your question it is worth more than 50p.
  5. Is it our friend with the shop in West London? I got a full set of them from him in order to do pictures for Check Your Change, before the error was known about. Maybe They still dont appear on his website, so must still be waiting for others to appear before pricing up! Will check on Monday when I see him! Hi all. Did you find out the type he had? Cheers
  6. There you go..... Just scroll down the page for English coins. I've set it to that, but there are obviously other options. Cheers for that. Some nice looking pennies. I could end up remortgaging my house. The last time i did that i ended up with a rather large aquarium.
  7. There appears to be a missing colon after 'F:D' as far as I can see? You could be right. I must admit that I did notice the blocked die but as I don't personally collect them I hadn't really considered it. To me, it's certainly not worth such a premium. Hi. I didn't have a bid at that one but got a good few of the sellers other items.
  8. Hi. Didn't get to see any pics of your coins for sale. Any links etc or e-bay name. Cheers

  11. Hi all. I have been watching a 1918 KN penny on the Bay which just sold for £1320. It was graded as GEF/BU. A very nice coin but havn't got that sort of cash. What do you think and would you? Cheers all.
  12. Hi. Now thats the kind of info we need. 13 now. i know that more will turn up but it would be nice if the RM could just say XXXX amount got out not "just a few" Cheers Dan
  13. That includes my one? Hi. Yes that includes your one. So at the moment it makes it as rare as the 1933 PENNY.
  14. If any one knows more about this coin or has one it would be great to know about. I Know of 7. Hi all. So after 2 months or so we know no more about this withdrawn design.
  15. WOW. That one is on my wish list.
  16. Hi. I might be inerested in it if your willing to sell. Do you have a pic. You could put it on e-bay and send me the link. Cheers Dan
  17. Welcome to the forums Jackie That's not really an error, more an example of how lax the Mint have become in standards. It's probably a die crack or something like that, and the 5p is so small that probably the inspectors failed to notice such a tiny phenomenon until a large number had been minted. If you found 3 it's unlikely to have any rarity. Thanks for bringing it to our attention though. Hi Thank you for you reply. i must agree with you. yes it looks like royal mints standards have droped. the other 2 coins are different, one is die filled. and the 3rd coin the word penny is just a mess. I thought die cracks ect were classed as errors. now im confused. jackie There's more than one way of looking at everything! To some they would be classed as errors, but among the collecting community they would be regarded more as deterioration, or degradation; dies wear, or crud gets onto a die or a blank, or dies crack. To collectors, an error is usually regarded as something that is the result of human error not simply a machine. For example, blundered dates, or an overdate / overpunched letter, spelling mistake, design flaw - that kind of thing. Thank you peckris for explaining it to me. im new to coins and learning. i was given a few old coins a while ago im only just starting to look at them. i have a few wheat cents and noticed the word liberty was all messy. this is when i started looking at error coins. since then found my self inspecting every coin on my purse lol. There is one coin i cant identifie i will post it on the forun to get some help. jackie Hi. I collect error coins like this aswell as the "normal" coins. In 20,30,70 years time they might be recorded as errors and if looked after now will be good examples in years to come.
  18. Hi all. Just wanted to show off my new 1887 crown. It might not be anything special but i like it. I think it is in EF condition. Would you agree? Cheers all.
