Ok a firend of mine in the USA wants to send me some Quaters in the post and she had them sent back to her because of custumes? how can i get these coins i dont understand why ther eis an issues when you can oder on line and no issues there, i said i think its becasue she put collectable coins on the custams form? any help begreat full i really want my gold coins to come :-(

So what coins does everyone collect? and do you just start from when you get change? i going to do the 50p i have about 8 already :-) and brougt a little album to put htem in to, but i also like the old coins to like i got a half penny that i really like that was in my change, i love some of the 2 pound coins but think that might me a lot of momeny to keep for a collection lol i might just get one or 2 of them i love the darwen one and the chimp

i got an interesting two pound coin yesterday its of a man in a top hat and he has a cigar in his mouth i never seen this one before its cool my first one to collect :-)

yes Accumulator's post is mind boggling but i hope to understand one day, i love that one penny coin with the two colours is very pretty I presume you refer to the bi-metallic model penny in my avatar. This coin is fairly common, having been produced in great quantities by Joseph Moore as an alternative to the pre-1860 large copper pennies. His concept was that the intrinsic value of the metal centre allowed for a much smaller coin. Despite being popular with the public, they were never officially adopted and in 1860 the Royal Mint produced the now famous 'bun head' bronze penny instead. The particular coin in my avatar is extremely rare, being one of only 4 known which display a date (1844). Wow thats really exciting known you have that coin i will have to look out for some of the not so rare ones to add to my new collection, thank you for all your addvice :-)
