Have you asked him as it could be worth a try. I would suggest someone in the UK buy it then repost it to you but with the £8 UK postage and whatever it would cost to ship to Oz it might get a bit expensive.

Dont read this if you have not slabbed a cgs coin

I slabbed a coin to sell and I don't think it made a jot of difference to what I got. So overall not impressed with the hype. -
You need one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIGITAL-CAMERA-COPY-STAND-/291233675847?pt=UK_Photography_Shooting_Tables_Light_Tents&hash=item43cee13a47

"Cost: £265 per boat inclusive of free, introductory membership of The Coracle Society" Only the Scots could make "free" and "£265" work in the same sentence I wonder how many members they have with no boat. I'll justa hav the free membership sunny.

Apparrently the new Scottish navy will move in and more than compensate for the lost jobs. Also all the new navy ships will be built on the Clide so there will be more jobs not less.

They do a 1933 along with the 1952 Half Crown, Now the Half Crown apart from being a proof is very very good. Bye the way this is the first time I've heard of them being atributed to Pobjoy, not sure about that.
-
Thanks for the heads up, bid placed.
-
How do you read a comic that is slabbed. Full white pages, how does he know and can he prove it. I'd want to look before I bought.

The only way it will change is if people stop using ebay in big numbers. The average man in the street who only sell the odd bits and peices will be happy just to shilft it for a small return, better than throwing it away. It's the traders that can really hurt ebay if they start leaving in droves.

And we are to get the wonderful Global Shipping Program.
-
When was it recognised as a vairety. If it was sometime after demonetisation, the plastic set would have been saved but little else. As collectors we obviously come across bucket loads of farthings but compared to the mintages it's really a piddling amount.
-
Mine I have listed as EF and I'm sure I only paid a few pounds for it. Although the mintage may have been greater than for the proof most proofs still exist whereas most of the currency strike have likely been melted. So it wouldn't surprise me if the currency 2+A is far rarer.

New Baldwins fixed price list
Gary1000 replied to mhcoins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I think ebay may have opened up the collectors market for a few years now but I think they peaked a while ago and are now on the slippery slope. Once you can no longer get a bargain interest will wane. -

Why are you smiling? Scotland didn't even qualify ... as per usual. Was there any point in England Qualifying? They were embarassing. I smiled due to my adopted country winning the tournament But we are used to it by now, it's the Brazilians that must be really hurting. -
I'm looking for a coin that has had the Lords Prayer engraved on one side, a silver 3d or sixpence would be preferred. It's for an upcoming birthday present for a friend so I have a few weeks to find one.

The major auction houses and slabbing companies should be playing a part here. Each time they reject a coin as fake, pictures should be stored in their online archives clearly labelled and searchable as such. What are the legalities about owning a fake or submitting it. Could the TPG before returning it take a metal punch and stamp a great big F in the middle of it.
-
Or was it deliberate due to some inticracy in the laws where they were made. Fake vs replica vs forgery etc.
-
This has been flagged as a possible fake, anyone got an opinion on it.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Edward-VII-1905-Florin-/360978080590?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item540bf8634e

Thanks Debbie, I have one myself which I gave to my wife to keep in her purse which has prompted her to want to give one to a friend for her birthday later in the year. I did do a quick search of the bay but there is nothing on there at the moment. I'll have to try and figure how to set up a search.
-
I hope you will also leave instructions as to how to realise the true value of the coins.

Not even subtle anymore Peter! I thought that was subtle for Peter. Peter, don't you mean a 21 year old will take a bit longer.

Rotographic Website Relaunch
Gary1000 replied to Chris Perkins's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Err it's British or more accurately Scottish, reported to have been invented in a restaurant in Glasgow. Don't you mean Chicken Tikka Masala? I understand that was invented in Britain, though tikka and masala are (separately) authentically Indian. Tikka is actually Persian and means a cutlet or chunk of meat. -

I've not visited any of the European WWII battle sites but I remember standing out side the church when I got married reading a km marker commemorating the route of the Bataan death march. Some years later we visited Mt Samat which is the sort of starting point of the death march where there is a small museum. Very sobbering to look at some of the exhibits.
