yea this would make it really easy if they open up an onsite grading office in Munich, save so much time and hassle worrying about what the tax man will do with my return parcel This time round i sent only lower valued coins so the difference between coin value and grading value should be much the same regarding what is due on taxes.

Bulk Lots at auctions

problem is most of these have done multiple rounds of people looking to do the exact thing, so you have to rely on 5/6+ people all missing out on something. -
Bulk Lots at auctions

i purchased about 200kg of coins a couple years back, there were a few gems in it 1 1834 G 1/2 crown and a 1923 EF 1/2 crown so yea some good gems to be found Ebay £850, will never do that to myself ever again, think i still have some of it lying about -
on the note of conservation, they did a great job on this one though, could have just been grime though, like someone left it on display and crap just gathered on it

Agree with this, I find it tough when handling my specimen strikes for the 1928-1936 series and comparing it to the proof, very tricky to spot what the proof really brings to the table. Compliments to the chefs for striking of circulation coins during this period i guess? Had a CGS 88 1935 sixpence and comparing to my PF65 1936 there are just the slightest of differences to look out for, mainly jagged edges but even then. Agree with the crowns too, so many out there that are not proof and would need to be spectacular for me to consider it even if a TPG said so

piggybacking off the back of this, what are modern dies capable of striking before they are retired? i have 50000 in my head but cant source that anywhere -
none at all, I mostly buy coins then sell them for about half that price so that someone can have a great day

i have sold a couple of these over the last year, as far as i'm concerned they ticked all my boxes for being authentic. -
😐 smaller coins are tougher to picture for this seller, one picture could be their own and the other picture from the previous seller 😋
-
could be yea, toning looks like something along those lines but style doesn't fit, contemporary ones are a bit more spikey details than round but i cant tell for sure. pretty sure ifs not legit though
-
design looks a bit dodgy to me, letters and cross look stamped with a single pellet matrix/tool rather than various shaped correctly. Also looks a bit thick to be correct weight. willing to be corrected though by someone with better knowledge though

i don't like the fact that the kew isn't an original 2009 one but is being treated price wise like it is (i believe it has 3 dates on it,where the 2019 date on the obv) i also don't like the fact the 50 "New Pence" was reduced in size too, kind of ruins it again, i guess it would have messed up the symmetry of the box too 🤷♀️
