just read the announcement and PWA is correct and it seems to be spink will be taking the reigns in sort, the submission centre is in the spink building but my understanding not open yet.

my interpretation of it is: if only 1 side frosted=CAM if both sides frosted+contrast=DCAM Both of these imply frosting on either side, this way just breaks it down as to whether one or both sides are frosted, i think the CAM designation is more important for coins that were produced before the 60's?

Proof coins that have both reverse and obverse designs that are highly frosted and contrast strongly with highly reflective fields are described as DCAM. what puts me off a bit was that "tyrants" collection that has appeared. I remember watching a few of those coins in sales in the last few years and cant help but feel that sort of collections like this as well as less visible stanley gibbon types are over inflating the prices of these and ending up getting stung i the end.

Looking through the pattern gold book earlier to find the coin in question, i do agree i would snap up 95% of these if i could afford them prioritising things I would love one of the 1920's gold strikes if i could ever muster up enough

£8-10k are for ungraded ones, i've been on the lookout for a good set that would be worth grading for a 65+ and its tough to find one.

its definitely a lot better than my 1926 ME

id say it can get an easy MS63 if your going down that route, possibly enough lustre to give it a RB designation too.

problem is pretty much as seen on this forum, alot of the right people did not see it in time or didnt pick up on it

yea i valued it around about £1200-£1500, spent too much already this month couldn't afford to go higher but a good purchase for whoever got it

Hi guys and gals In the past you have been amazing with helping giving information and providing resources A while ago i bought a coin from H.M.S Association and i have been trying for a while now to see what else was in the wreck that was salvaged, if any other good coins existed What i am looking for this time is information on shipwreck salvages, British ones in particular for the moment, basically how do you go about finding what was recovered? Also there wouldnt be anyone by chance that has access to either of these 2 catalogues or know how to get them in libraries/Fitzwilliam?
