Cheers! Just wondering now whether any research has been done into quite which range of years 'early', 'intermediate' and 'late' RII halfpennies fall into. Also, this coin cost me just under a fiver. I think that, despite the condition, that has to be a decent price, but would be interested in clarification!

After much Googling, I'm going with "intermediate issue, London mint (1377-1399 AD ; North 1331b; Withers Type 1)" Happy to hear any argument against though!
  3. Hi! I'm a newcomer here. Have recently started to pull together a coin collection from scratch, having lost mine during a most troublesome house move. Any advice on these recent Edward acquisitions would be hugely appreciated! This one one is supposed to be an Edward III halfgroat.
  4. Again, any clarification greatly appreciated!
  5. Oops, just realised these are all in the wrong section. Can anyone move them to the 'Coin ID' section...?

    And the third coin...

Ah, of course! The 'DV' is the start of 'Durham'? I should have tried harder - thank you!
  7. It can be seen to be a York from what's left of the reverse inscription, I'm presuming? Will try and get some better pictures...
  8. Swift reply. Thank you! How is it known that this is a halfgroat? Is there some of the inscription I'm not getting? Not sure how to get better pictures, really. The flash reflects off the coin, so I was using lamplight. Any other suggestions greatfully appreciated! PS pre-treaty period is 1351-61, right...? Also, obviously it's a London mint, but what is the rest of the reverse inscription referring to...?
