    Smooth edge five pence 5p

No, it's not well handled at all. The coin has a perfectly smooth edge. To look at edgeways on, you would think you were looking at a silver one pence piece. But; to look at the coin in the palm of your hand, it looks just like any other 5p you would get in your change.
  2. I HAVE A 1991, FIVE PENCE PIECE. IT'S UNUSUAL IN THE FACT THAT IT HAS NOT GOT A MILLED EDGE LIKE OTHER FIVE PENCE COINS. THE EDGE OF THE COIN, IS SMOOTH AS YOU WOULD FIND A 1P OR 2P HERE IN THE UK. CAN ANYONE SHED ANY LIGHT AS TO HOW THIS MAY HAVE OCCURED?
  3. Can anyone offer any information as to how I ended up with a 1991 smooth edged five penc piece in my change? The edge of the coin is smooth like a 1p or 2p, not milled like other 5p's
