That photo was taken by me ... small world, I guess it's new owner has shared you the images
-
This is the example i mentioned, still with the mud from the welsh marches intact.

I sold a Superb Welsh Marches Halfcrown last year that was found within the correct area, thus giving the locality of a possible mint there, some creditibilty. However as you said, there is no defined place as to a known mint. Isn't there a large castle (or ruins of one) there ?
-
I remember your article in the SNC and recall a brief discussion we had at a Birmingham coin fair when i owned a Hartlebury Halfcrown, so where in your opinion would have they have been minted rather than there ?
-
Good morning guys, not an area I normally buy from but would like your opinions on this example (grade) and the value you's think it is worth? Thanks
-
Penny's aren't a denomination I generally buy so maybe my grading on them is slightly off however I felt the obverse was better than EF and the reverse EF. The wear looks like cabinet friction more than wear from circulation. The photos I attached are my clients. I'all take some tonight myself.
-
Are they still going ? Decided It's going off to pcgs for grading as they have a grading week at the end of the month.
-
Thanks for the reply @IanB this is the reverse.

Bit of news, Baldwins and St James auctions are merging. New joint venture named Baldwins of St. James. First auction will be in February.

Baldwins and St James Unite

The old agreement from my understanding was based on Baldwins cataloging, photographing and handling the auction inventory. I believe a falling out over a few we'l known sales and where they eventually offered may have been something to do with it. -

All to do with a good lighting set up and the magic of photoshop ! -
This made me laugh Brexiters June 16: "Our government need to take back control!" Brexiters Nov 16: "Don't give them the control!"

also my reference in regards being well informed wasn't me saying i was. Up until a few weeks before the vote i was someone very undecided. However i took it upon myself to read up regarding the referendum as much as i could and decide on what i felt would be beneficial. I also imagine TM is secretly very happy inside with this High court decision, especially as she was very pro remain.
-
did you not read how simple the question was on the ballot paper - thats condescending ! I believe when a vote of such importance is happening, its better to be understanding to both sides and make a descision rather than "lets get rid of those immigrants im voting Out"
-
I'm still of the opinion that many (not anyone on here) didnt really know what they were actually voting for and the consiquences. Robs suggestion earlier would have been a much better idea, MPs discuss the issue first, spread the word to their constituencies of the pros and cons of the Referendum, then a vote. I'm sure many would have watched the hock of Sh!t each TV debate showed, and based their votes on this and whatever biased newspaper they read. Not everyone is well informed and i'm sure Tens of thousands would have based their votes on very fickle things which could have been very easily influenced with them being told what they want to hear. In hindsight the whole build up to the vote was awfully conducted from both sides, and has been dealt with dreafully ever since. A compromise has to be reached whether its with the EU on exiting or partially remaining. Why not use this as a good opportunity to potentially gain positives from both sides of the table ?
-
Would be an incredibly strange situation should the MPs block it. However it was a close vote, with many people since saying they'd have changed how they originally voted. Surely the best situation from here would be for the MPs to come up with a compromise to suit everyone. A partial brexit of sorts
-
Guessing many aren't happy with the high court ruling today. Seems like the vote was a waste of all of our time

What's happened ? -
Another Sunday and another suspicious eBay result. A 1902 Matt proof sovereign graded pcgs pr62 has just sold for £1025, yet another reputable seller has a higher graded specimen (pr63) for sale at only £850 ????
-
Strangley enough all the other coins sold that day have feedback yet those two dont ???
-
the winning bidder on the Shilling is S**S (105) the same as two coins i watched last week
-
i agree the price is stupid but IF its a genuine sale someone clearly thinks its a good buy whether shill bidding has occured or not
-
I meant in terms of hiding any faults, technically yes making the colours brighter in PS is altering an image but the colours are there, you cant add them in, in my experience useless they are evident in the original picture. I was looking at the Spink recent sale catalogue and their photographer appears to edit all images (of the same metal) using one setting, all the coins have a similar gold colour. I generally treat every coin when editing individually.
