  1. I missed out on this one, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1825-Great-Britain-George-III-Farthing-copper-coin-encased-in-resin-/271579937448?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEDWX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=%252BU5hBtf5wmMq69YHry8S6xkbb%252BI%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Clear 5 over 5 overdate and possibly a high grade coin. But in resin ? A prior museum piece perhaps ? Would have been a nice curio. cheers Garrett.
  2. I am not an advanced collector but it looks a bit cleaned to me. Not an unattractive coin though, having said that.
  3. Welcome CC ! cheers Garrett.
  4. Welcome Rob ! Nice penny too, not bad at all. Tom, great post !!!!! cheers Garrett.
  5. Yes, very nice coin indeed !
  6. nice halfpenny Cathrine ! Jaggy, gorgeous 1/3rd farthing as well, but I've not been drawn to them yet as they weren't used in UK or Aus as far as I know ?? Looks pretty much "as struck" too but don't listen to me it's Friday arv here and you know what that means. time for my bottle. Have a good weekend all !! cheers Garrett.
  7. IMHO I don't think it's quite VF, and it doesn't look entirely round.
  8. Welcome Jason !
  9. Hopefully you will find one without the question marks Goom; they're not rare. cheers Garrett.
  10. It might be a good idea to check out what they have been selling for at auctions (if you've not already done so). cheers Garrett.
  11. Yes would be nice to see the pic ! cheers Garrett.
  12. Yes thanks Clive/Stuart. Was referring to the 'threepence'. Thanks for answering ! Not the coin I'd buy but would be thrilled to bits to pull it out of the ground ! cheers Garrett.
  13. non-genuine ? Sorry if it's a stupid question; it's a warm Friday arv here and I've been drinking
  14. I'm sure we'd all rather forget about the soccer anyway ! I must say, as someone who is not a soccer fan, a lot of the games have been good to watch. They are on early morning our time (starts of 2am through to 8am) and I have watched quite a few as they have been on free-to-air TV.
  15. Welcome Edward ! It is a great forum and you will probably enjoy it here.
  16. Hi Azda Yes it has arrived. We spoke about it in Goom's "just an idea" thread, http://www.predecimal.com/forum/topic/8314-just-an-idea/page-2 cheers Garrett.
  17. I was supporting you lot, but you didn't do any better than my lot !
  18. What's the address ? I'm sure we can find someone to cheer for
  19. bargain !!
  20. I keep putting money aside for a decent camera but as soon as I do I spend it on a coin. Go figure. Giving me money to buy a camera is like giving the grocery money to an alco. I am not an advanced collector but the halfcrown looks fine to me, no surprises. It has very small haymarks but they are visible in the picture. I have bought coins before where there were surprises (e.g. hairlines in a shilling I bought from Downies) hidden due to the angle of lighting when taking the photo, but not in this case. If anything the colour might be slightly darker. Perhaps due to the lighting but I really don't know much about photography. I think it is a very well taken photograph. I don't know why it took a while to sell. I saw it nine months ago but it was out of my budget at the time. It may have been slightly undergraded.
  21. Looks like there's a few out there ..... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1818-GEORGE-III-SILVER-HALFCROWN-GEF-EF-S06-6053-13-/331209043240?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item4d1d98ed28
