    Coin Minting Video

I dont know about the process of engraving coins which came from a photo or an artist sketching images,in the coin Im still learning. But the picture is a captured time frame of an event and the issue on photography and painting and sculpture is still alive, even in the past during the invention of photogarpy bother the other artist and painters but both have different followers and now computer. As photography is consider a art and use in the ingarving of coin, for me its art influence from other art from photography to coin or other prefer from painters artist engraver to coint. For me it is better a picture from the event engrave in the coin or other artist engrave an event seen the event personally or have a great attachement or knowledge to ones nation then engave it to a coin, I not into that deep yet, for I rarely seen an article about the design on a coin and the artist and why. I will like coin from my country but I will like more if a fellow countryman design it somekind of nationalistic.I will hate it if a foreigner will design it with no knowledge and attachedment to ones nation or just pursuing a talent of a foreign artist because he is good will it will be best if he reasonable present the image in the coin even if he is different nation. That will be a question of millions of individual in one nation an no one will represent its own country that will be akward just for me.

    Hello All

    Welcome Dean.
  9. Great site. There several website on the web about error including GB listed under world error, others have specimen of diff. error but finding dramatic error is hard and expensive. And other countries have diff. method of producing coins especially Europe in thier early years, I think they varies,I did not seen any compiled books on GB error, several site have specimen or sample of different kinds.

    Mudlarking!

Maybe a number of object will end up in shore coming from land through river and to the beach, metal detector it might be handy I think, For me most objects will settle in the lowest ground maybe in exit and openig inside and outside the thames in time build up and will be same level, park and historic site near the thames, is for me a good spot if not big housing state or public building for the number of people goes there and near to the river, or the area in the far end entrace of thames boundaries between rural and urban. Goodluck.

    GRADING

Im not good in grading coins have to start from the bottom well most of my coins are very worn but it will be a start for me. So I will post most of them hope others can grade them and why they did arrived to that grade, others used the reverse others used the most worn. Other coins in high grade still waiting for one site http://www.coins.gb.com/. Hope other expert can help and other readers can have an idea an online reference with picture in low grade.
  21. Thats good Muy. I think it needed two or more example to somewhat identify it and should be two or more vareity found in the coin to distinguished from other variety and sometimes needed a die crack or minor error in the coin to attached a die and it is also needed a attribution from the expert to consider a variety. For me earlier die is different from new one the joint sometimes you can find the J slanting is smooth even in uncirculated condition, sometimes thier not distinct in appearance other can find the whole J deeply ingrave and the hair inside the helmet sometimes one curve or wave sometimes two with smaller portion on top others are more wavy than others. Im still looking for slant hair or part of helmet that is slant near the temple in uncirculated condition, if I can find one, no luck. And maybe the number of plumes on top of the helmet those uncirculated are finer and I think more in number than old one or simply the old ones are worn. Post the coin Muy.
