  1. I have an 1855 P.T. penny which I bought because it appears to have the date numeral 5s in different fonts with the right hand 5 slightly "fatter". However, the reverse of this coin appears to have a slightly different design with Britannia's chain mail bodice having what I describe as an ornate central panel. It's a pity that the coin isn't a higher grade but nevertheless it does look different to me. Normal Plain Trident reverse My coin's reverse Sorry about the size difference - it must be to do with the resolution of the originals.
  2. Yes please. Happy to receive by email.
  3. Not the recessed ear variety, then ?
  4. Because the whole world is dumbing down around us. Why does every TV programme begin with a summary of what is to follow ? Why does every news item have to have a piece of film illustrating what is being said ?
  5. Well done, Paul - I'm still looking for one of these.
  6. That's much clearer and definitely not something that I've seen before.
  7. Larry, we need a photo containing all 4 date numerals to make a comparison.
  8. Could you post the reverse for completeness, Terry.
  9. A nice but not rare 1860 F10 with a large die crack went for £580-80. I don't understand it. It looks as though I should get my entire collection slabbed before I sell it.
  10. Not the greatest photo but I see no trace of a 3.
  11. I think that's a racing certainty, but hopefully they will be produced in such volumes that speculators won't be able to cash in.
  12. That's pathetic if not unexpected.
  13. They're usually pretty quick. Have you received their invoice and paid it ?
  14. Yes, this was a swift addition after they'd sold out. They wisely realised there was a lot more money to be made out of minting a few more sets. They're still asking silly money on Ebay, though: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354272064282?hash=item527c42b31a:g:ZkYAAOSw9qFjHH3m&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoL3S7E1IAbOGDTxFKFqBtRKqOeLsN5qrVXScqXw7frUhCr10UB%2BXv1UF%2FFcL0DQaWwznwOncOxxdWI1JLeoT4rfjSMehjiUQJRVXiyu%2BiV99Q3154ida1zcQr3aZL41cgGJoBUjHk69jp%2BivQ0WjpgEuGjzU10MNWotqwMM%2B3r%2FCqwSpiR1Nty4cDtvBMVU%2BKjoQfXpfzpGOcEkh2bKrbZo%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5LD2oflYA
  15. Ian, is it OK for me to add your splendid pictures to my varieties site (with appropriate accreditation, of course) ?
  16. I would add that Style E has the base of the 7 pointing to either a tooth (with the 5 over a gap) or a gap (with the 5 over a tooth).
  17. Vultures cashing in on the Queen's death. I can just see the headlines - "Last chance to get her final year's coins". It didn't take them long. Last night I was 5150th in the queue for the Mint website !
  18. I see the Royal Mint has sold out and they are appearing on Ebay at £300 !
  19. King George VI reigned for the first four and a half years of my life but I was never really aware. We had a coronation party at Infants' school when I was 5 and Queen Elizabeth has been there ever since. Her passing has affected me more than I ever thought it would.
  20. I still receive their catalogues.
  21. That'll do for me. Thanks Pete (I think it's Pete - we met at DNW a couple of years ago).
