I bet Interested to know if it arrives in 24 hours, or at least close to that.
-
24 hours is nuts, I can just about get that from mainland Spain to.. mainland Spain . American collectors always prefer the slabs though, right? Maybe they were considering it before and then the slab helped them over the edge..

1862 Halfpenny. Die letter B

Why -
Haha thanks. I was considering another level - "There are only 10 types of people in this world - those who understand binary, those who don't and those who just realised this joke is in base 3." Get it?
-
Remember I'm only talking about the company change, I'm not on about the grades they supply, the consistency in grading, the photo quality, the people who use the service or anything else, I'm talking about the fact that they handled this change of name and fees in a very bad and sloppy way, giving little to no information to anyone who regularly uses them and changing their minds 3 to 4 times (while I assume some people have paid different fees, depending when they signed up after the change) about what they want to charge. There's one thing to say 'We are a grading company', and another to say 'Our graded coins will get more money if you put them in our specific auction, where we will take a fee for grading and then a fee for selling'. Even the most venerated of people still have friends
-
The 'Key benefits of coin grading' is literally copypasta from CGS site, that's why it says CGS all over it. They're missing pictures too. Also - "Hall of Fame collections can create a large attraction if offered in the London Coin Auctions adding significantly to the realise value." So why is it that only through consignment to LCA does the value increase? They're like a kid that thinks they're extremely venerated, when in actual fact nobody likes them.

The beads around the rim, for example an I in ELIZABETH might point directly to one of the beads in the rim, to the left or right slightly of a bead or in between 2 beads (to space)
-
There's a segment on bbc 1 in the next 10 minutes about the most advanced fake 2 pound coin ever seen, might be of some interest.
-
I'd say you've done pretty well in that timeframe, the bun heads aren't exactly the cheapest either. You'll burn through the 20th C

The entrance to my house is reminiscent of the Petra entrance in Temple of Doom. Just in case any Manc scum are lurking
-
Same here - got rid of mine when one fell out and I accidentally booted it across the room not too expensive a coin, thank god. Many Whitmans out there with holes in the backs too.
-
although to be fair there are 2 questions - who got the Spink one and who got the DNW one..
-
Think his mate got it?
-
Thanks Mike I'll give it a go

That slabbed quickly!

If you spot another.. I've sent Christies an email, had a look on eBay but nothing there. Hard to find it too because a lot of what comes up is Freeman's bronze coinage book.
-
ok cheers
-
Thanks Pete, what's the exact title of this catalogue? Hard to search on their site
-
I was hoping it had been digitized at some point. Not to worry I'll do a bit of digging, I'm sure I'll find one somewhere.
-
Is the catalogue online or hard copy only?
-
I had a quick google but a few things came up so wasn't 100%. Do they do that per coin? Arduous...
-
What are adjustment lines Paul? Is it something to with getting a coin to the correct weight?

What about the pennies with KN? If you want to do some penny variety hunting, you can't go wrong looking here What's your period of collecting (as in 1860 - 1970)?
