Let's See Your Toned English Milled Silver!
Nordle11 replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
What that why it was rejected? I thought it was because of the scratch (which Swanny says wasn't there before he sent it). It's a really nice token though Paul -
It was more a time-stamp so you could look back on BBC iPlayer, but glad a few people got it at the time. It was pretty interesting to see, although I was expecting them to pull out 4, 5, 6+ fakes from £2,500 worth of £2 coins and not just the one.

What Peter said! Pictures are a must to give you any information on value really. -
1975 10p. Clipped planchet or PMD?
Nordle11 replied to bagerap's topic in Confirmed unlisted Varieties.
I think it's called the Blakesley effect (?) it should 'mush out' the side opposite to the clip. Looks genuine to me too, the beading is faded around the clips which is a good indicator, and if you've already tested and another 10p fits into the clip nicely, I wouldn't hesitate to say a mint error. Couldn't disagree with VS' value, around 5-10 quid sounds about right. -
Found some interesting information regarding Imageshack - it's basically the Windows Vista of image hosting sites and a lot of forums have problems trying to see pictures hosted by them. I know that's a pain in the ass but I think the solution is to use the add attachment or another image host. Sorry Mike.

Of course that would happen, it would be too easy otherwise having a look around now.
-
Just having a look and I get a 404, could it be that with this photo hosting site you need to be logged in to your account to view your images? Can you do a test for me - log out of imageshack but stay logged into PD, then try to look at one of the pictures on here that you could see before that no-one else can. If it doesn't show up I reckon it's blocking people who aren't logged in as you from looking at the images.

Penny Acquisition of the week
Nordle11 replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Decent price for a decent coin, I would say. I bet you're having fun looking for all the 1860s -
For me, the first URL inserted image isn't showing, whereas the second one directly from your computer is. I can't see what the problem would be with the first type though. The quickest way I find to re-size is to print screen, paste and crop in paint then save as a jpeg, usually gets anything under 500kb. Can you PM me a link to a photo on your image shack and I'll try to replicate it?

Edited to include the pictures while we sort whatever's going on out. That's a decent, strong coin though, nice buy. Did you get it for a good price?? -

2 x 2, Quadrums, Capsules and paranoia
Nordle11 replied to Sword's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I would agree with Paul, capsules are probably your best bet. Although I have a couple of pennies in quadrums and there is literally no movement whatsoever- but I didn't buy them so don't know the deal with the insert sizes. I remember someone on here saying they supplied slabs for DIY slabbing, although I'll bet AndyJack on ebay probably has some for sale. -
How about now?
-
Also you should be able to edit up to 2 hours after your post, can you still not?
-
Strange top to the 3 but, like you say, definitely not an open 3.
-
6 now It also opens up the for sale/wanted section if I remember correctly.
-
Unfortunately not, those are the groups - have a look here for more info. You can't change that part of your profile, but after 500 posts you can put whatever you like in the section just under your name (currently "---")
