If it was a 164a I'd take it in that grade otherwise it's as close to BU as possible -

I'll take it if it's 164 or 165, I don't have the means to check it right now.. -

Guy (@The Coinery) has asked to put this up, attached you can find the CGS exported list of coins (by year, denom, CGS value, grade, etc) in an excel file. There are some great coins in there and having bought from Guy a various points I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. I'm sure there are others on here who have bought from Guy and have been just as happy. Please PM guy directly as it's easier to follow than checking the thread. CGS List.xlsx

There you go a bit better. Although there is another further along called 'Veteran' maybe that'll get the chop too..

Its hard thinking of names alright! Maybe a poll and suggestion thread to decide the groups.. Nothing is set in stone of course

Hmm. They look ok on the computer, are a bit fuzzy on the iPad and that part isn't even a feature on mobile When I've sorted it I'll sticky a post about the post counts/groups so you can see what's what. The old post count system went to 1000, I thought it would be a good time to update it as pretty much all the regulars are past that anyway, the coloured group badges I was just trying to spice things up a bit, it also makes it easier to see who's who for new people. To any dealers - There will be a new group called Coin Dealers that you can be moved into so that it shows under your name and also is in a different colour to everyone else's, to help others distinguish who's a dealer and also that they're trusted by the forum. I think it'll be good for new people who join up and it can't hurt to advertise your business either! Send me a PM if you want in on the action, you just need to have a direct link to your site in your signature to make things easier, and obviously Chris will have the final yay or nay.

If you have a friend called Jemima and she gets the puddle duck 50p, I'm going to lose my mind

Odd silver 2p coin 1971

Well put, I would expect the same. I think the ridonkulous price quoted was from that previous sale that was hyped by the Daily Mail (yet again). It's fine though, if someone wants to spend 1k+ on a coin worth £100, I'm not going to stop them -
Something's going on with the notifications at the moment, there's a fix in the pending update, just waiting for Chris to do it. Normally you'll get a notification. From the update information; This is a minor release to fix a small number of bugs: Broken @mention links.

Yeah the embedded images are being hosted by the original server where it's uploaded, so if you removed the photo (permanently) then it wouldn't show anymore, either in a link or in an embedded image. The only files it would save are the ones that you choose to upload, the under 500kb ones. Even then it will probably kill off photos after a few years or so to keep free space.

It's difficult to tell from the pictures, can you see detail where the mark is where the design should be? If it's a strike through you should have some sort of underlying design there, if it's been stamped post mint then that generally flattens the whole area and you can't see anything but the stamp. -
You called? The grey tags on threads are called META tags, when google or whoever is crawling the website for content it looks at these (among other things) so it knows what's where. So if you create a tag called "Uniquetag419283736" then googled that phrase, the thread should be at the top of the google search.

Yes but we all know you're a special case, Mike That is strange though, I've not heard that one before..

Let's See Your Toned English Milled Silver!
Nordle11 replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Always enjoy seeing this coin, in a thread ranting about CGS or not the toning is just amazing. -
Even without high res pictures, you can still see how nice that crown is. Nice coins sword

Yeah it's a bug in the software from the forum providers, they know and assume will release the fix when they have it. You know that hosting a website and all its images costs money right? Predecimal is 100% free and all paid for by Chris, many of the other sites have subscribers or donations to help run the site, whereas this place doesn't. The 500kb limit is actually plenty as well, I've never had a problem myself and everyone else seems to manage ok. The method of selecting images, to me at least, is pretty straightforward? Bar the bug you came across, it literally takes 3 clicks add an image. If it helps I can show you a couple of ways to reduce the size of an image, you'll find that you can get everything you need within the 500kb limit, especially in the case of photographing coins.

He's teasing us! We want to see that gold toning

Sorry, I can't remove the post you reported as 1. you provided no reason for the report, perhaps it was in error? and b. Peter was merely letting us know there is a vvanker in our midsts, no harm no foul.

I thought vox pop was like fielding calls from the public, generally on a radio station.. In that sense it makes sense to me. sidenote - did you sign up to the forum just for that?
