Extremely nice coin! How many of the original 500 look like that I wonder? -

Looks legit from the ebay picture, although when you compare it to Jerry's wonderful example the underlying 1 doesn't line up with the teeth in the same way. -
Isn't it supposed to be grease/oils etc from handlers at the mint? I don't think there's a concrete explanation to why it happens though. If there is I'd like to know too!
-
Not too much for me, doesn't deteriorate a coin and all part of it's history. I have one that I would like to upgrade because of the carbon spots, but only because it looks like someone sneezed over it

Depends on the odds..

Sorry Bob I knew that, I mean is this dot on the trident or in the field?
-
Hard to see Dave. Is it similar to the 1922 dot on trident?
-
Lol, does the sticker say "I'm with stupid"?
-
And with one bid already 1933

I don't really rate CGS pictures all that much and all of the slabbed coins I've bought I've broken out and taken my own photos, so I'm not too worried about losing their set of pictures. It was more a case of viewing other's coins they have to sell.

When I sign in I just get taken to the londoncoins landing page, I can't see any of this? Such a mess, is this, they've really pissed off a few people during this process. Seems that the pictures can still be viewed the way I mentioned before though, I'll just be doing that for now.

The last of the missing varieties I'm looking for, this side of 1900. Excluding the obviously difficult ones and the F192a. If it helps anyone, you can see the pictures for your coins if you have the UIN; Using Paul's example - http://www.coingradingservices.co.uk/img.php?u=39472&f=r& - if you change the 39472 for your UIN you can see the reverse. If you then change the 'f' at the end (&f=r&) to a b, it will show the obverse. Example obverse - http://www.coingradingservices.co.uk/img.php?u=37060&b=r& Example reverse - http://www.coingradingservices.co.uk/img.php?u=37060&f=r&

Yes, please don't clean them

Hi welcome to the forum. What do you mean by downturn? Also I wouldn't get too excited, there a plethora of error coins out there with little defects like this and they don't sell for a lot.

Ok, that clears it up then! Thank you for checking And thanks for the kind comments, it really looks 100 times better than the seller photos, I didn't realise how large and weighty the halfpenny would be! Fits nicely to the side of the penny collection
