    Penny Collection: Edward VII

Guy, if you have it could you send me the penny list with the photos too? Saves searching each UIN. Also, I gave Jon my login details for the CGS site so he should have access now.
  2. Welcome to the forum DrP, it seems everyone must've been at the pub when you first posted, don't be disheartened by the lack of responses They'll be along soon enough. I don't know too much about collecting maundy, although a set of my birth year is certainly on the list. I'm not too sure why people would separate the sets but I suppose needs must and it's got to happen to some of them. Well done on picking up the 2 pence for a fiver though, not too shabby at all.

A good list since the last book then. For the missing waves have you got all 4 - 1967, 1966, 1934 and 1921?

    403 forbidden?

Sorry bagerap I can't find any reason why it would be doing that. Chris managed to sort the issue out for Coinery, maybe when he comes along he will be able to do the same for you and REDD. It's strange that you can both access and post on the site but just the edit profile section isn't working, the 403 is a permission error so it's weird only one section isn't working. You all have permission to edit your profiles too.

    403 forbidden?

Do you have another browser you can test it on? IE or Firefox?
  6. Nordle11

    403 forbidden?

Everyone has lots of IP address. I meant I've checked both yours and REDD's IP addresses that you have used previously.

Anything notable in your new list Dave? A new major variety or something like that..

    403 forbidden?

Can you check to see if any of your plug-ins are preventing you from seeing the pop-up? I can edit your profile from here which suggests it's either an IP issue or a plug-in issue, I've check both of your IP addresses and neither are blocked, including any recently used ones.

Nice spot Brian, I presume there's nothing in Groom about it? If anyone would've noted it, it would probably have been Dave.

Not one I've seen before either, and quite prominent compared to ones in other places

    403 forbidden?

What's the process? I.e you get the pop up form and enter the details but get the 403 when you click save or does it come up when you click edit profile? Can you try clearing cache and cookies and try again (if you haven't already)?

    Pennies - Edward VII

Lovely coin, better than my normal 1915 which really needs an upgrade too. I did buy a cracking one on eBay about a month a go for around £70 but the seller used the GSP and apparently didn't receive any tracking so we assumed it never arrived to them. Such a pain when coins go missing.

    403 forbidden?

Could be a blocker of some sort? When you edit your profile it doesn't take you to a new page, it brings up a pop-up form to make changes in.

Thanks David, very helpful. The photos are a good comparison too. Also, nice recessed 1915, can we see a picture of the reverse too?

    Pennies - Edward VII

Talking about the broken 5 in the 1915 penny, you mention that "Only the rounder head obverse appears to exhibit this breakage not the recessed ear observe." What is meant by rounder head? I was recently talking to Richard about this date because apart from the broken tooth we cannot seem to see any difference in the 2 obverses and it's almost impossible to see the recessed ear. Any new identifier would be excellent.

For anyone who doesn't already have a log in to view the coins and can't see them, PM me because I don't slab any coins I just use my log in to view them and search for UINs, happy to share my username/password so you don't need to pay for an annual subscription.. For those I know and can trust of course

    1 pound 1997

Welcome to the forum Kumarik, I'd agree with Jerry it does look very much like a fake £1. Just to let you know, you have posted your reply as a Report so it hasn't shown on the thread. Kumarik's response; Thank you very much for a good answer. I also think looking at this coin, it comes from the concrete mixer. But since we did not find any information (I'm from Ukraine), I thought that the British coin collectors must know everything about British coins. Thank you
