Looks like an obverse G (Gouby) because of the centrally cut fishtail. One of the earlier stages (probably stage 1) because there is no crimp in the bow, although that could be down to wear? Reverse D, LCW below the shield and toothed.
  2. Nice toning on that coin!!

    Markets

From what I was reading on their site the other day, they are able to ship it to you but you start to incur charges depending on how much you want to take out.
  4. It's almost better than my normal tide example!
  5. One from a few weeks ago. Another variety off the list.

    1860 farthing - obverse 2 or 3?

Nice work Jon, so what's the indicator on this one, besides the hollow neck, or is it not as easy as the penny's I in BRITT to tooth?

How is my 1st go at grading?

I'd agree with EF for the first, a little wear on the cheek and Britannia's leg. Good pictures for your first ones though, took me an age to get to where I am now (no where at all)
  8. The 1 in the date is directly above a tooth

PCGS ...NO IDEA ABOUT 1860 MULE

They might re-slab and re-assign it for free if you speak to them. If you break it out they might not.. What a pain in the arse though, I know they're American slabbers but it's not exactly a micro variety!
  10. Yeah that is slightly better than most. Shame about the little chip on the rev.
  11. Seconded, I'd love to see a picture too!
  12. A very nice find indeed Chris. Next one up at LCA estimates £750 - £1500, so a hefty profit for just 20p

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

You can see the insert in the second picture, this one's a hollow out one and file down another job. A fool and his money are soon parted

Busy day for the Royal Mint

Busy day for the Royal Mint

I couldn't find them on their site, I think they might've sold out already. But from what I can see I think they're a tenner-

Sorry I tried to edit it, I was confusing myself and looking at GOUBY reverse N, instead of Freeman reverse N. Doh!

The overdates are on both F111 and F114 don't forget. Richard, if it's an N reverse and Heaton mint, then it'll be obverse 12. Difficult without pictures haha.

What is it Prax, I think my work's blocker is stopping the images from showing

Busy day for the Royal Mint

Just tried and still 129 people in front of me. There's apparently going to be a coloured 50p with Peter Rabbit on the front too. And another 4 designs to commemorate the 150th anniversary..

    LCA March

I knew what you meant I was just complaining about something else haha

    LCA March

Lot 653 is also wrong, they seem to sell a lot of these so called 'errors' which are clearly just vice jobs
  24. Ditto, the other would put me off too much every time I looked at it!
