  1. Yeah sorry for the confusing Mike that was my fault, I slightly hijacked your thread for a moment back there!

    No signature function ?

I do know the thresholds, I don't know why they are set the way they are though but they can be changed. I don't want to go changing anything just yet though haha. I'll have a chat with Chris about what he minds and doesn't mind me changing, he might have reasons for certain things.

    No signature function ?

By the nature of the provider of the forum, the guest group cannot edit their posts and there is no ability to change this setting. This is normally the case though, I don't know why it's setup this way but maybe it's just the standard across the board for all forum providers. Maybe an extra incentive to sign up?

    No signature function ?

I've dabbled at forum maintenance before, fire away it'll be good practice haha

    No signature function ?

Good news! Mine and a few others seem to have been imported automatically without re-adding them so fingers crossed its just done it for all!
  6. Likewise, and I've learnt a lot from yourself among many others. No hard feelings!
  7. That's more like what I'm used to seeing, some invaluable knowledge that the books can't teach you You're a marmite character Dave...you know the saying and sorry for the rant, bad morning.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Like I said, I bought something from her, it wasn't as described and it was returned, hassle free. No rule bending there. Maybe a bad turn of phrase by Flash. Without trying to look/be heartless you managed to Dave

Very nice, thank you for the link too. I'm not sure why I couldn't find it, does the site give you more results if you sign up? Perhaps that's why it wasn't showing.

Two pound coin with outer ring reversed.

Yeah it never lets me post directly from my phone either. You'll have to crop it down on a computer or something James and try from there. When the £2 coins are struck, they're done from one die on both the center and the outer rim which causes them to join. I'm pretty sure anything that is different from the norm has been done by someone after its struck.

Two pound coin with outer ring reversed.

Welcome to the forum James. If I remember correctly, it can be removed and put back in by freezing the coin, due to the different contraction rates of the two metals, among other methods. Do you have any pictures?

    One sided blank planchet

No problem, I like to think I know what I'm looking at but as you might have just seen in another post the eyes can deceive . Someone else can probably chip in just to confirm, though I'm fairly confident about it. I'm afraid I can't help much with the others that you've posted but give it a while, someone will come along I'm sure..

    More Pennies

Thanks Pies, I was literally just looking at that site as well The colons are too close on the picture I posted for it to be an ME, but the direction they point in is strange. Like I said I think it's the having to zoom in on the picture that threw me off.

I think the bad picture is throwing me off, I don't think I'm wrong about the colon pointing to a tooth though, here's an ME (the first) and the normal '26 (second).

Am I? I thought the colon after BRITT was closer to the T in the ME and because of that it should point more directly to a tooth? Sorry if I'm being an idiot, that's probably why it's got stops.

    More Pennies

Here is one I can't get my head around, it's a 1926 penny which looks like an ME where the colon after BRITT points to a tooth but there is quite a clear stop after the BM? I thought that there are no stops in BM on the ME?

    One sided blank planchet

I would say it's been done by someone after striking. The rims are curled up both sides (as it is on the obverse) before striking but there is no rim present on the blank side. It's not uncommon, and was probably a shove halfpenny. Have a look here.

    One sided blank planchet

If it helps at all, take a screenshot of the picture on your computer and paste it into paint, then just crop the image down and save as a jpeg. That normally helps to reduce the size so it can be posted.

Nice coin prax!! I can't find the Spink lot, but I'm terrible at using their website! Is it a 6+D?

    One sided blank planchet

Welcome to the forum Robert. I know a collector who has a few half pennies with one side unstruck, they're not too common but can be found. The majority of these however are just from someone grinding down one side until it's flat, if you can post a couple of pictures we'll be able to let you know if it's genuine of not. Try to get a couple of close ups too, normally you can see the tell tale marks if it is post mint damage.

Maybe it was my computer! Now I'm on my iPad the picture shows up and also shows in my quote, doh!
  22. I think it's extreme heat but not 100%. And cool to look at as in they're colourful, colourful things are always cool to look at the coins themselves aren't cool but the vibrant colors are!

The picture's not showing Scott? Pete's just sent me a ton of 1907's (probably 20 in total) with different 7's and 9's and positions and extra bits and bobs etc. I think there are many many micro types..
  24. These are what I was on about! Cool to look at but not really for buying.
  25. Neat little feature! @Paulus - I think it might be part of the update, I'm sure I've written @ someone before but never seen the little pop up come up!
