Apparently they're doing a live preview on their facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ChangeChecker/) of the new £1 at 1 o'clock. Not sure what that entails but might be worth a watch.

Bugger, well one for the list I guess. Is it just called 'Coins'? I had a quick google but the name is so general I just get a lot of other unrelated stuff.
-
Is it available online Rob?
-
For me it's Freeman/Gouby numbers and widely accepted varieties (like the popular dot flaws). I'd buy curios but wouldn't go out of my way to spend a chunk on something like a B over R, unless the price was better than I thought the resale would be. The VR court survey, for those interested, should be in the useful links thread under general.

I'm also interested in the secret feature, at first I thought it was just a combination of a lot of different features..

That's what they're there for.

I have a stack of about 50+ Coin Monthlys that have penny articles in, I've tabbed them all but I just haven't gotten around to scanning them yet. I will one day I promise.

The other half showed me this yesterday, I really thought they'd just passed him and not seen, so glad he came back

A little late here but this made me laugh coffee out my nose. Then I had to explain to everyone at work what I was doing. In Spanish. With coffee all over me.

Will chip in to make this happen

With or without the closed 9, that's a very nice example of a difficult year.

Oh I see, no 'two pounds' on the obverse. Thought he/she meant the whole coin.

Hi and welcome! Please can you post a picture? 9 times out of 10 things like this are fake, the TWO POUNDS wouldn't really be missing on a genuine one.

1992 20p coins
Nordle11 replied to Sylvester's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Hi and welcome to the forum! A strange effect on that one... If you just want to know value, it's still going to be 20p unfortunately. Maybe on eBay someone will pick it up as a curio, but I doubt anyone would pay more than a quid or so. As to how that happened, I've actually no idea. Could be a severe die clash or a bad die, I'm interested what others think. -
Well remembered AH. If anything, Terry, it serves as confirmation of your own findings. @DaveG38 do you mention anything about the curved E or the size of the 0 in the date or only regarding the spacing between the numerals? Sorry no book to hand.

Welcome to the forum Euromen, someone should be along shortly to help but please don't open multiple threads for the same question. Unfortunately I have very limited knowledge of hammered coins so I won't be much help.
-
Great eye Terry, and very well detailed. This could be part and parcel of trying to iron out the problems they had from changing the bust design, differing shapes/sizes of numerals and fonts etc. A question, as I don't have an F160 to compare, does the E in ONE also differ between these varieties? The F160 is hard enough as it is... don't say I need to find 2 of the buggers

Thanks Terry, I'll have a look now.

Bit late to the party but happy holidays everyone! Hope you're not all too hungover

Strange, because each and every time I've spoken to her, she has reminded me of the fact she is selling her husbands coins because he has a terminal illness. A fact which she has shared with many for some reason. And she always signed off with Shelly. Also I have no idea what that listing means

Does anyone have a copy of CGS prices for either 2015 or 2014? I remember exporting it at one point but cannot find it for the life of me. Thanks.
