  1. Just reread this and obviously hadn't read Nordle's reply in relation to Peck's. Nordle is right. My reply was directed at the previous posts. This referred to the OP which is a pit on the die. Cuds are usually flat and featureless. The only interesting cud I've seen is one positioned under Queenie's nose, makes it look like a huge blob of snot. I'd still not pay more than a quid or so for something like that though.
  2. Cud? That's what seems to fill the Bay while I'm looking at error coins

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Vintage is regarded as about 50+ years and yes antique about 100.
  8. It does look like it's just a weak I. The second picture gives a better idea.

Looks like a 6! Colin might be right about checking what the other digits actually look like. These ones are fairly bog standard though.

    Defining Rarity

Yes, very sneaky indeed. Like I said though, if you were smart enough surely you would just 'claim' to have destroyed it, when in actual fact it's tucked away somewhere. Then, once you sell the puportedly unique one, you will have a copy yourself, unbeknownst to anyone else... *MWUHAHAHA*

“Home made replica from three penny bit and 5p. Poorer on reverse due to manufacturing process” - Does that mean if I take a hammer to my car I can call myself a car manufacturer?

    Widows 7 Or 8?

I had a laptop briefly (about a year a go) which came with the latest Linux, while there isn't a lot I can fault with it, I'll always prefer Windows as it's what I know. The functionality is smooth and it isn't hard to get to grips with the interface, but I just can't be bothered to go through the hassle of learning it all. Regarding DTP, unfortunately it's a long debated issue that doesn't produce a favourable result. Specifically I don't think Serif will emigrate because of the costs involved (and I believe they're a relatively small team) and at the moment you can't support Serif on Linux. With that in mind, I doubt it'd let you run it on any emulator. What do you use out of interest? Daemon tools?

    Widows 7 Or 8?

You bloomin' Mac users!! I jest, I jest... But seriously, apart from Windows ME (let's just not go there) Vista was the worst OS to come out of Windows. One of my favourites was the fact it reinstalled any malware you uninstalled

It MIGHT be IE ? Web designers used to code mainly for IE and any other browser had to take pot luck, but Firefox and Chrome are the main players now, with Safari on every iPhone and iPad, so IE is probably now a 'maverick' independent that plays - as it always has - by its own rules. Try Firefox or Chrome, and you may find it works fine. FWIW I'm using Safari 5 on an Intel Core i5 iMac. Alternatively, you can always try the compatibility mode on IE to see if that helps. It's located here; (The little a4 page torn in half)

    Defining Rarity

There's a story (possibly an urban myth) that a second copy of the "rarest" stamp the British Guiana Magenta 1 cent was bought and destroyed by the owner of the only known copy David Just stumbled across this; http://voiceofrussia.com/news/2014_03_23/Worlds-rarest-stamp-sold-in-New-York-7370/
  20. They couldn't have been worn after a year in circulation, surely? Or do you mean where the dies are worn and the striking detail isn't great?

    Widows 7 Or 8?

No problem, I also hate going through the rigmarole of upgrading my OS, it's just a pain in the back side. And as the gold ol' saying goes.. if it aint broke, don't fix it. Windows 7 works well for me, for now

    Widows 7 Or 8?

Morning Debbie, I'm on windows 7, and much prefer it to windows 8, for now at least. The support for 7 is vaster, and runs a lot smoother too. 8 is only on it's first version (I think?) so there will still be bugs to iron out. Personally, I only emigrate to a newer windows when they either stop releasing service packs for whichever one I'm running, or like XP, it becomes pointless to carry on using the old versions. I heard a lot of bad things about windows 8 when it originally came out, I think as an OS on the surface, a lot to do with compatibility and also the lack of any games, apps etc. as they didn't migrate anywhere near as many applications as they should've done. I don't hear as much negative criticism of it nowadays though so they may well have cracked down on some of the major snagging issues. If it were a ultimatum, I'd go 7 for now. Ask me again in 1-2 years and it might well be 8.
