Does not seem to be much happening on the forum recently. One that is toned which normally i would keep away from as its really dark and the photo not the best. IMO is a nice even tone and a nice strike. 1861 F22 4+D and again c.g.s. 4231 Pete.

Read the article with interest ,i have quite a few with the royal mint letters. Hard to put a price on a coin that is really looked at being a curiosity. For that reason you can get caught up in a coin you consider scarce but i feel the market is small and therefore does not increase the resale value.

Your coin appears to be the older 50p and therefore bigger, is the other side normal. Otherwise IMO its been in acid or corroded . Thanks for posting. Pete. -

Rim Nicks - how important are they?
PWA 1967 replied to Nightvision's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Think its down to how scarce the coin is as mentioned earlier. I dont mind rim nicks/edge knocks if the strike is ok and i cant find a better one. I wouldnt buy anything that has been cleaned and not keen on verd or carbon spots. Only buy pennies and some with a lot of lustre show signs of handling and not really bothered about that either. I have a really nice 1858 large rose penny with small date a couple of nicks but the strike is nice and problem free. -
Welcome to the forum. A lot of people on here with the knowledge to help you and offer advice. I have spent hours looking at old posts/topics and still do always something to learn. Pete.

I am looking for a nice 1934 penny .i only want one that is mint but will pay top price £200 if already slabbed. I have been looking to complete a date run 1860-1970 and just bought an 1864 so the only ones i need are the 1934 and 1869 but doubt anyone has one of those. Yes and before anyone says a couple more are missing but wont lose any sleep over them.
