personally i think its sellers trying to bump up the price and coins get sent to c.g.s. by sellers looking to make a few quid. There is nothing wrong with that but i can assure you it wont always work.I do feel they grade independently and some you win and some you lose .We must remember in my opinion shill bidding happens and some people buy a number. The majority of my coins i have had slabbed i bought raw and although was dissapointed of a few being rejected that was there opinion and what i paid for and allowed me to send the majority back.I have over a hundred pennies slabbed and although probably cost me a couple of grand i am happy You dont have to send or buy them. Pete -
That is out of order and just shill bids ,Waste of everyones time

lots of good people will help on this forum ,i only buy pennies .I don t want you to make mistakes that cost you to much money and the best thing is get used to grading and read as much as possible. The british bronze penny 1860-1901 is available on michael gouby site michael coins well worth buying and reading his web site. The bronze coinage by michael freeman is the one main reference more commonly used and i would buy them both study and keep looking on the forum. Pete

Just feel that if it would of been c.g.s. graded then the price would of been considerably higher.I no most will disagree but why not slab for £25 and attract a bigger market. -
Yes your right .The forum is called pre decimal ? The coins are garbage weather its a P or H or K its no interest and rubbish.Sorry but no idea of the imput to PRE DECIMAL FORUM

PWA 1967 replied to MACKSILKY.'s topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Hi .Seems normal to me ,what difference do you see ?. -
Yes that is the question
-
Thanks for your reply and gives me something to think about
-
Your reply makes some sense rob.But surely if they quote verd or corrosion coins will be rejected makes it hard to determine what coins i should send for them to grade.

All the best and happy new year to everyone

Looks like bucks coins selling on commision and the owner doing the shill bidding,a lot of the coins/banknotes are not owned by them .they just set a reserve that they both agree on.
