1897 Penny - NGC calls these two High Tide, seems incorrect
PWA 1967 replied to SilverAge3's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Raven coins welcome to the forum 😀 👍. Another indicator i look at for the 1897 High tide if not the clearest picture is the shield almost touching the teeth ,on the normal one there is a gap. -
Looks like F13 3+D to me .

A clear picture to confirm ,it does look like one although may appear better under a microscope ,especially with some light. -

A couple of 1855 Pennies both really hard to find in grades above VF ,both purchased not attributed. DOT on Forehead & Three colons after FID.

A new scarce one not attributed ,with the sellers scans. BP1874Nn , 7 over 7.
-
It is an altered date with the 5 changed to a 4 ,he describes it right this time ,rather than the seller previously who was trying to sell it as a genuine 1843.
-
Your top picture and the one Peck posted are both the scarcer REV C and probably were the difference is.

Coin prices continue to rise

Seemed as good a place to post as any ,this in my opinion is ridiculous 😯 RWB Auctions - Fine Art & Numismatics Auctioneers based in Wiltshire | 1953 Queen Elizabeth II proof nickel brass Threepence, graded PF 69 Ultra Cameo by NGC (S 4152). Obverse: Mary Gillick's first definitive portrait... The sixpence went for over £1K and although they may well be nice and worth a premium ,those prices have gone out of sight.
