I have had a few decent ones off ebay Mike not attributed and that is how i found the one you have just bought.

Its not UNC Peck......But with good lustre and yes cheap ,it was one of mine so have seen it in hand 🙂 There is one on ebay that has been on a while for £35 and its better than that one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GB-1940-PENNY-SCARCE/192893122637
  3. Yes 100% they know Peck and create the market interest to make the profits and as long as people are buying them will keep bringing out new designs that wont go into circulation. They are bringing that many out though that i feel in a couple of years the designs not for circulation will be worth a lot less and forgotten about. The big selling point for them is.....Limited number 🙂
  4. IMO its not stange at all ,people are buying them to sell due to the limited numbers Snowman , Gruffalo ,wedgwood anything with limited numbers.Unfortunately the collector who wants one now may have to pay more. However that i feel is the maximum most would ever be worth as the same number of collectors wanting one in a couple of years time will be less. People are buying the gold wedgwood and others to sell and i am sure some are buying more than 3 ,so can set the price at what they want when they have sold out I.E. £1250 although London coin company has them at nearly £2K The Royal mint should maybe issue more to look after collectors rather than..... Only Limited numbers available. There will always be exceptions ,but dont feel with most of these they are anything other than a nice thing in a box.
  5. I think Sword is right ,unless its a coin design that goes into circulation by the thousands / millions people will have forgotten about them in a couple of years as they keep releasing other designs.Collectors who want one will buy one now and keep it in the same condition and i think the new collector wont pay or have to pay over the odds in a couple of years and will again just buy a new release. There will surely become a time were people get sick of seeing a different design every couple of weeks. Can anyone tell me the gold value of the wedgwood please at todays prices ?
  6. Had another duty bill that is wrong today ,so another letter to Coventry. Although i have one thats been awaiting clearance at Midlands airport since the 7th APRIL.........Think they may of lost it 😮

Had a field day on e bay......

Yes Mike i agree and as i mentioned all three are scarce / Rare in high grade.and Peck is not on his own trying to find a high grade 1946. Think you have more chance of being hit by lightning than finding two 🙂

    Yes Mike.....your SPOT on

Had a field day on e bay......

Yes its always going to be less than a normal coin of the same year due to it just being a FLAW / DOT. The 1897 DOT and 1909 DOT are the same and more than enough for anyone who wants one and they are turning up all the time. However as there are less of them than just the normal date to find them better than VF is going to be much harder. So plenty or plenty -ish ....You can find them all in low grade quite easily. Probably most people dont even look as either have them or dont want them

    More Pennies

A curiosty thats a bit different , why the seller finished the sale early there is an inverted 1928 penny in the next LCA with a lower estimate if its the kind of thing anyone is looking for.

Thats a good one Terry and hat off and Richards is the best i have seen. One sold graded as GEF for £340 + at LCA nearly two years ago. They will be RARE in UNC as Dave Craddock has only had one in nearly fifty yearrs. Plenty in low grade though 🙂

    Slabbing - Learnt my lesson

I didnt say there was anything wrong ? The question was ........Were the coins sent from America to the UK by a TPG ?

    Slabbing - Learnt my lesson

Thanks Eric. The only details though i would like to know is were the coins sent by a TPG to the UK as you mentioned or an auction house ? For the TPG company to assign a variety by sending the coin to someone in the UK not employed by them (Mark Rasmussen ) i cant get my head round 😮

    Slabbing - Learnt my lesson

Do you mean the auctioneers will send the coins out prior to grading for conformation ,such as somewhere like Heritage ? I very much doubt if someone sent a coin to a TPG in America they would send the coin to another country as does not sound cost effective ? Although obviously thats what they did with your own i doubt they would do it for someone like me 🙂

Had a field day on e bay......

If someone had asked me some of the scarcest dates IMO in true UNC POST 1900 that can be found easily are 1926 ,1934 & 1944 so does follow a pattern. Or is it just a coincidence 🙂
  16. PWA 1967

Had a field day on e bay......

At first i thought .....well thats blown that theory Although again the 1961 is more elusive than the others in the sixties , yes there are millions of them but hopefully you understand what i mean . People pay 20p more for a 1961 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1961-1d-Elizabeth-II-bronze-Penny-UNC-and-lustrous/153447110932?hash=item23ba291914:g:CKIAAOSwykpchj2U As Declan mentions in his description.

Yes agreed it definately is one of the hardest dates in UNC. Maybe as none had been minted for four years more were circulated ,although thats just a guess 🙂

    Slabbing - Learnt my lesson

Yes Dave but it does not mean they have to agree with you.Believe me and i can only mention pennies , plenty are not always what the person thinks they may have 🙂 I think with regards CGS we are only talking about a few ,but the main plus is you can hopefully if your right get it sorted by a quick phone call as in fairness they do listen. Mistakes will always happen .

    Slabbing - Learnt my lesson

Some varieties are not in books and there is nobody on this planet who knows about every single worldwide denomination....Although some people might think they do
  21. PWA 1967

    Slabbing - Learnt my lesson

Was it a variety ? I do think they dont attribute a lot as the variety and just put i.e. 1860 Penny. Watching a you tube video that was mentioned on here last week one coin had been sent four times untill they had a closer look ,i dont think thats fair and must of taken months from start to finish. I also note your post on here 1st of March 2016 that you had sent a mule penny they had just attributed as a normal one ,so not the first time its happened 😟 Sad that there is a breakdown in communication from the day you send it untill receiving it back ,if something was not correct they could possibly have a second look before putting it in plastic.

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

The year is on the OBV Dave and shows as 2019 as they all have 2009 on the REV.
  23. PWA 1967

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

Yes.....One guy has bid with him about 350 times in the last week ,he must be getting frustrated to keep bidding for all the same items
  24. PWA 1967

    Ebay's Worst Offerings

The seller is not putting on the description they are 2019 (which may be seen as misleading ) although that is on the picture and cant be classed as fakes. The fraud squad........Sounds a bit heavy 😮 Are there fake 2019 is that what you mean ?
