A curiosty thats a bit different , why the seller finished the sale early there is an inverted 1928 penny in the next LCA with a lower estimate if its the kind of thing anyone is looking for.
-
Thats a good one Terry and hat off and Richards is the best i have seen. One sold graded as GEF for £340 + at LCA nearly two years ago. They will be RARE in UNC as Dave Craddock has only had one in nearly fifty yearrs. Plenty in low grade though 🙂

I didnt say there was anything wrong ? The question was ........Were the coins sent from America to the UK by a TPG ?
-
Thanks Eric. The only details though i would like to know is were the coins sent by a TPG to the UK as you mentioned or an auction house ? For the TPG company to assign a variety by sending the coin to someone in the UK not employed by them (Mark Rasmussen ) i cant get my head round 😮
-
Do you mean the auctioneers will send the coins out prior to grading for conformation ,such as somewhere like Heritage ? I very much doubt if someone sent a coin to a TPG in America they would send the coin to another country as does not sound cost effective ? Although obviously thats what they did with your own i doubt they would do it for someone like me 🙂
-
If someone had asked me some of the scarcest dates IMO in true UNC POST 1900 that can be found easily are 1926 ,1934 & 1944 so does follow a pattern. Or is it just a coincidence 🙂
-
At first i thought .....well thats blown that theory Although again the 1961 is more elusive than the others in the sixties , yes there are millions of them but hopefully you understand what i mean . People pay 20p more for a 1961 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1961-1d-Elizabeth-II-bronze-Penny-UNC-and-lustrous/153447110932?hash=item23ba291914:g:CKIAAOSwykpchj2U As Declan mentions in his description.
-
Yes agreed it definately is one of the hardest dates in UNC. Maybe as none had been minted for four years more were circulated ,although thats just a guess 🙂
-
All good fun Mike I have a spare UNC 1944 if you want one ,just PM me.
-
Yes Dave but it does not mean they have to agree with you.Believe me and i can only mention pennies , plenty are not always what the person thinks they may have 🙂 I think with regards CGS we are only talking about a few ,but the main plus is you can hopefully if your right get it sorted by a quick phone call as in fairness they do listen. Mistakes will always happen .

Some varieties are not in books and there is nobody on this planet who knows about every single worldwide denomination....Although some people might think they do
-
Was it a variety ? I do think they dont attribute a lot as the variety and just put i.e. 1860 Penny. Watching a you tube video that was mentioned on here last week one coin had been sent four times untill they had a closer look ,i dont think thats fair and must of taken months from start to finish. I also note your post on here 1st of March 2016 that you had sent a mule penny they had just attributed as a normal one ,so not the first time its happened 😟 Sad that there is a breakdown in communication from the day you send it untill receiving it back ,if something was not correct they could possibly have a second look before putting it in plastic.

The year is on the OBV Dave and shows as 2019 as they all have 2009 on the REV.
-
Yes.....One guy has bid with him about 350 times in the last week ,he must be getting frustrated to keep bidding for all the same items
-
The seller is not putting on the description they are 2019 (which may be seen as misleading ) although that is on the picture and cant be classed as fakes. The fraud squad........Sounds a bit heavy 😮 Are there fake 2019 is that what you mean ?
-
Thousands Mike ,just click on the £2 tab 😮
-
http://thefakepoundcoindatabase.co.uk/NewPound.html A fantastic website and Hat off to the guy. I wasnt aware there was now fake £1 coins in circulation .but suppose it was bound to happen 😵
-
He does not name the people who the coins belong to and if they did mind they would not send them him.Looking at the dozens of people who had put comments below his video though it appears they all seem to be happy. Yes i was presumptive as if i had a coin that i had sent him and he put it on you tube ,it would not bother me at all. I bet with all the people who will read this thread over the next few weeks he may even get a couple more customers.
-
I dont know any although all the people who send them him dont mind ,so as i have mentioned what is he doing that is so wrong ? Maybe you just dont like him but to just have a go at anyone on a public forum doesnt seem fair. Your call and your able to have a go at anyone if you want but i feel your time could be better spent From what i can see he is selling some coins ,sending some for grading and doing some videos........I am sure there are plenty other people doing much worse 😊
-
Why shouldnt he as again i dont see anything wrong after watching one. Watching a video 😊(only one) he has loads of people who all seem happy enough and if everyone is happy good luck to him
-
He does not appear from what you say to be screwing anyone though. You mention a video of coins sent before and after and although i havent seen it ,that does not sound out of order.Sounds more like someone who has an interest and just charging people a couple of pound extra if they want to send them through him. Maybe i have got it all wrong ,although as you mention he sends alot i am sure they must be happy to send coins to him. Were do i find his videos please ?
-
If he is making a killing Dave why dont you do it.I dont see he is doing anything wrong and must be plenty people just want to send a couple and happy to pay a bit more ? If he is doing a lot i imagine he must get pow fagged to death if they are not returned in a couple of weeks

Yes........Its like the sixpence that sold at auction in 2009 for just over £4K and a few months after sold for over £100k nobody obviously expected that to happen and everyone had the opportunity to buy it first time round. Different auction and a different day.........Although a bit of an exception to the rule 😊 -
Penny Acquisition of the week
PWA 1967 replied to Paulus's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Yes the gap is the first one i look at. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/George-V-1913-One-Penny-Coin-Collectors-King-George-5th-/202639009952?nma=true&si=RoK94v15yq838hgYv7cnTr69aSs%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Maybe all the posts on here about 1913 pennies even sellers are checking them now ,this Rang F175 was listed and taken off straight away a couple of days ago although not really worth much more than a couple of £. -
Yes i looked at the large picture through a glass and sure i can see the H. Its one coin i think i will always be happy not to have , as would constantly have doubts if it really was one.
