  1. Without stating the obvious Mike it will be the same as a 1934 with a different date and sorry i have never had one, coins round 44,45,46 such as 1947 will be much darker. I can send you pictures of a 1932 (i cant download them ) but any 1934 colour is what your looking for. I think after yesterday they are just a few of the same blanks that got mixed in by error. If you want the pictures of 1932 just PM me. Pete.
  2. Daves book also states............The majority of examples for 1935 were darkened at the mint and in a few cases examples are found with a brilliant finish. Again...I dont agree and think that also is an error .
  3. Thinking about it the HYPO i feel it must of been put on the blank before it was struck ,the 1946 pennies were all lustered and fully struck from a mint roll. They were almost black but with a sheen that would of come from the strike IMO.
  4. I will have a guess Mike..........36,743 😊 Joking aside that is an error in the book ,your own coin which has just naturall toning IMO is the same as most. There are exceptions to the rule some years that have MT when shouldnt have ,i had a 1932 that was MT.There are some years that should be MT 1944,45 & 46 that you find have missed the MT and occasionally 1934 ,sometimes partly as well as the full coin. The 1935 though are MOSTLY normal . I believe the HYPO was a liquid wash that the coins went through after striking ?. Why some years have it that shouldnt though i have not got a clue 😊 Infact it would make more sense that the BLANK was washed BEFORE striking and some of those were mixed in with others 😮 Pete.
  5. Yes Paddy the 1919 is a decent strike 🙂
  6. Thats a good one Terry compared with some at least on the REV the breastplate and lower part of the helmet show A lot of them have a weak OBV and can assure you there are much worse than that one. Its also quite common for the top part RHS of the Y in penny to be very weak for some reason.
  7. For what its worth Mike 1911,12,13 both F174 , F177 &14 you should be able to find quite easily with a good strike. The ones much harder are 1915,16,17,18 & 19 ,these are coins from 1911-1920.
  8. Also keeping themselves busy. I have just watched a documentary on Sky arts called Auction which featured them ,nice PR job.
  9. Good afternoon Dave 😂 I only look at the pennies but also feel they edge on the side of caution with some, better to low than to high though .

    More Pennies

When i first looked at one i am pretty sure its a 4 as only the plain 4 out of all the digits fits and is the most likely repair with a crosslet one.
  11. Having a quick look Mike LCA have only sold one decent 1915 since 2005 ,so yes to find them in a high grade is difficult. Sure one will turn up , although even the normal 1915 can be hard in UNC with a decent strike .
  12. The 1916 is relatively common ,but the 1915 scarce IMO Mike 16 .....1 in 5 15......1 in 30. Only a guess 🙂 Looking at CGS they have done 17 1916 and 2 1915 the 2 1915 i sent them both 🙂

    Mintage figures

Like most big companies .....One person wont put something in writing to you unless its signed off by the person at the top 🙂
  14. I retired at 42 after having my own companies and moved to Spain. Unfortunately i went beserk and now find myself on here all the time with a chronic illness 😮 Although it was all good fun at the time 😃
  15. The biggest problem as i am led to believe is by signing for a package your accepting any charges and one courier only does this a week later on a seperate invoice. If once you have the item you can claim a refund ,but are unable to do anything untill its in your possesion ,so a bit of a catch 22. Alternatively if you dont sign the item is just returned to the sender.
  16. Yes it happened to me again a few weeks ago . Fedex are not interested as they just pass the money on. If you go onto www.hmrc.gov.uk Type in the search box custom duty on post ,there is a form to print off. They were really helpfull when i phoned them up and as i am not the sharpest tool in the box, they told me how to fill it in. The form gets posted to border force in coventry, atleast i think it was there as the wife posted it and although i have a copy she is not in to tell me where it is 🙂 Mine was with royal mail and dont know if that makes a difference but would still phone them up as they were really helpfull.

    Pennies High grade.

I purchased this as was in an Auction (Part LOT) described as Doubled 9,4 & 5. Sent to CGS as at the time i hadnt seen another and was a decent grade (CGS graded UNC) ,the coin is alot darker than appears in the picture. Anyway i didnt query the attribution due to it being rejected and they graded as just a doubled 9 which IMO i am sure it isnt, although if its any use to someone and your not happy i will pay the return postage. Its not in a plastic slab (just a flip with the sticker on ) and can mail the picture of the OBV if anyone is interested. £25 Posted. Pete.
  20. Its a nice coin Peck. The hardest place to remove anything from is between the teeth ,so maybe at some time in its life someone has already tried andI would just leave it as it is. I believe years ago they put some white rubber glue on the teeth untill it set hoping that peeling it off would remove most 😂
  21. Behave your self 😊 You were a dealer for years you must of seen coins ruined by being cleaned ,especially the wrong way.
  22. Heebie Jebbies 😂 If it wont pick off leave it alone IMO.
  23. I dont think that is one of your best ideas Peck 😊 The idea is you practice with a cheap one ,not end up with something glowing or a different.colour.
