  3. Hi Chris. Dont be taken in by all the hype and crap on ebay. All the Two pence up to 1982 say NEW PENCE. This means there are millions of them and not worth anything. When the NEW PENCE was dropped in 1982 it was replaced by TWO PENCE some were produced in sets with 1983 on one side and NEW PENCE on the other. This is the one that is rare and sells for big money known as a mule with a different Obverse and Reverse (Heads and Tails)Sorry if its not what you wanted to hear. Keep smiling. Pete.

    LCA JUNE

Think its all about if we want something we buy it and if we are happy it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. There is no need for anyone to defend what they have bought (apart from to the wife) its upto them. I have paid more for things i want ,not just coins but allsorts of daft things and buy them for ME. We are collectors so fill gaps ,some gaps are worth more to us than someone else. Well bought Jaggy ....If your happy thats all that matters

Booklet on Edward VIII proposed Coinage

I will have that please Paddy.
  12. Just a note to say thank you to them. I was taken to a private hospital last Friday evening. However after quick pain killing injections and scans they did not have a surgeon available for the problem and needed imediate treatment /surgery at 8.00 PM Immediately i was taken to a local NHS hospital by ambulance. The NHS have there problems but they let me out last night and we dont realise what they do until we need them. Thanks again. Pete.
  13. PWA 1967

    NHS Thank you.

NHS please have a rethink I was taken into hospital by ambulance again and was in for a few days and cannot thank the NHS enough once again. However when i was discharged they gave me a carrier bag of medication...... Asking the nurse were did i pay for it all ,she just told me it was free for everyone that is discharged. They are giving thousands of £s worth of drugs to people like myself everyday and IMO should charge everyone that pays for a prescription. All the staff were brilliant and feel £millions could be put quite easily back into the system. Pete.

    E over R DEF 1817 Halfcrown

I dont doubt you Richard as you must have the book with the 1860 6 + H in it. When was this put in Spink and maybe one of the problems that they put it in and later did not have enough proof to confirm it ?.

    access to information

I hopefully dont want to be negative unless you had someone who could be sure of the variety you could have just thousands of pictures. The english grading company has about 80 different 1860 pennies and they are just ones they have had in hand and given an opinion on by close inspection. On the other thread you posted on the 1817 they have done about twenty different ones......Was it a B or an R or a P i just use that as an example. Some of the copper pennies could end up in the thousands as its more unusual to find one that has not been repaired re-cut or punched. I think if you put them in an encyclopedia it would not fit through the front door Good luck though

    E over R DEF 1817 Halfcrown

Looking at the third picture i guess at F over E over P....with a die crack below the loop of a P.... Although looking at the picture again the E must have been used twice....So i give up

    1861 BUNHEAD ID'S

I bet you have a couple Rob
  22. PWA 1967

    1861 BUNHEAD ID'S

Satin is a brochure on scarce victorian early bun pennies. The F15 retouches start at Satin 16-20 which is why without a picture you were better looking on Richards site. They are differences made to F15 and covered in more depth by Gouby. Look on Richards site at the retouches / transitional dies. More for the Anorak collector

    1861 BUNHEAD ID'S

Worth a picture Mick. Will be Satin 16 but varieties with the colons and Bun recut. Or look on Richards site for the different stages
