Definately worth a read though if you can find a copy and excellent pictures that help -
Sorry i dont have a clue about them....when the item was first listed the picture was of a GATE
-
They were all homemade ,one guy sold over 300. People were buying them from him and relisting them and the fact you bought twenty i would think are the same ones.
-
I notice there wasnt one in LCA.
-
Sorry but the coins and pictures are obviously not mine
-
Pity Prax is not about i know he had 2/3 ,maybe one at LCA which will be due to go online. What i did find suprising is the english grading company have done 7 although only 2 F69. Good luck .

In answer to your question i dont have one or heard of one. I have just checked a coin news article on Bronze penny flaws and its not mentioned in that either. -

Before you start looking for any the 1874 i think was a typo for 1875 of which there are a couple of types. Happy hunting -

But again Frank there are quite a few of those all in the same place and again documented in the updated Freeman and David Groom book. -
Yes thanks Mike the sea line sometimes i cant tell especially if the coin is worn and even then sometimes i am unsure. The 1874 can be tricky to tell the differences between them all atleast i struggle ,i need to try and spend some more time trying to get my head round them. Talking of daft dots the ebay coin also had one at the side of the ship
-
Just shows how much i know about them as didnt think it was one

If its raised and wont come off its a bit of grit or similar on the die so Ideally you would need to find another one to make it of any interest IMO. As far as sending it to someone they are just going to tell you what you already know and some of the people on here will no doubt give there opinion Another option is something that has been mentioned on here a rust spot on the die that starts off minute and can become bigger. Whatever it is you really need to find another one atleast so maybe just keep hold of it and keep looking. The other thing is the 1870 & 1875 the dot is a lot bigger and cant be mistaken for anything else. -

Thanks for the above comments ,i am suprised more people havent given an opinion .As i have mentioned before i can learn more from a coin that i dont think is right rather than one that is. -
These have gone thanks Steve (Partridge )
