One Penny 1860 Help!

Yes they can have that appearence sometimes especially about 25 past if it was a clock Why you are learning that one side is called the reverse....the face side is called the obverse. -
One Penny 1860 Help!
PWA 1967 replied to LouiseT's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
Hi. The teeth are joined to the rim so there is not a gap, were as the beaded one is on a small scale like dots round the edge (beads) and will show a gap being circular. Ideally it would be nice if the beads were on one side and the teeth on the other. As far as anything else you are correct and would need to post some pictures........Hopefully someone can help you with that. Good luck selling them although there are thousands of them for people to choose from and most collectable ones are the ones that show all the detail. Dont be in a rush to sell them as you never know one might be worth a few quid -
Yes the detail is really clear for it to be anything to do with the obverse. I think your on the right lines Ian and is a strange looking thing.
-
Anybody found a Finger flaw yet ?. I now think nobody is possibly interested in them or has even seen a picture to know what to look for ,i have none to even look at .
-
Is it OBV 2 Theres one somewhere on another thread i havent seen anymore ,you will have to put a picture up.
-
So is this OBV 1 or OBV 2 .........Zoo ?.
-
Now your doing my head in deleating things and ammending your previous posts
-
Yes so 1 + B ? ........
-
Also Ians picture and not your own that ones clear
-
Yes but is it OBV 1 or OBV 2
-
I have sent you my opinion Ian ......So will let someone else confirm. Maybe you can post the pictures i also sent you as they are quite clear
-
We will just call it a RT error Jon as i dont have a clue
-
I think its possibly a lamination error showing the coin struck through from the obverse due to the weaker flan........Not my theory just asked someone Although looking again that doesnt make sense as the head is lower
-
My head is not right Zoo......but your going to send me beserk, what you looking at Maybe i am going really bonkers as just gone into a bit of a trance staring at it
-
Nice thing about the 1897 Stu is theres a few different ones so may end up seeing a scarce one Although the one you bought £28.50 was off a forum member and he wouldnt miss anything as really knows his pennies
-
I suppose its better than them taking it off and then rejecting it for cleaning Its like an auction company they wont touch the coin just list it as it is. They may of thought although it doesnt look nice there is nothing causing any damage so value £50 grade unc and job done. I wouldnt buy it and wouldnt of sent it in but someone elses coin ....so long as they are happy thats all that matters.
-
Is it not just dirt or something on it ?.
-
Yes.......NO CHANCE
-
I only look at and focus on pennies so will leave that for the silver gang
-
Think we might be grasping at straws Zoo i wasnt expecting it to be anything special but was hoping it would be a bit more than that. Maybe it is
-
Thanks yes i have read the description but with there being know picture wondered what it looks like.
-
Sorry to bring this back up but its bugging me now Does nobody have a clue what this Finger flaw is please or is it the one pictured at the top ?
-
The thing with a dealer is they talk to you and I have learned more from dealers than anything else as they answer questions. Not sure what you mean by little challenge as we are buying a coin does it matter were it comes from if its what you want......maybe if you open the envelope and find out its RT. I mentioned there is nothing wrong with ebay and wish you luck
