When i phoned yesterday as i couldnt log on i was told it maybe was because i was logging on to the home page. If i clicked on the auction tab and then log in it worked straight away. This morning as i had forgot i tried from the home page and it wouldnt work, then remembered clicked the tab and again worked. Just reading through the threads above and sorry if i am interupting ....feel like i am talking to myself -

Also what threw me is when i clicked on bid nothing happened as you then have to click on again to confirm it. It was like bidding on ebay not a problem if you are aware but i wasnt and caused a delay on my bid being accepted. With the hammer going down pretty quickly on some i am sure it must of happened to others and why yesterday he was taking online bids after the hammer. -

I couldnt get the live stream Rob with the sound running ,so had the saleroom site for the volume and bid through Baldwin at the same time although only one bid it worked ok Fortunately although the coin i bought was a halfpenny it wasnt the one you wanted. I would be pissed off also -
Farthings between 1897-1918 were darkened at the mint ,so as not to be passed over for a half sovereign. Its known as hypo.

On the point you raised above Stu Yesterday looking at my ebay i had received feedback from a coin i bought last week along the lines of........."Buyer never contacted me and would of got refund left negative feedback F%^%in idiot." Made me laugh as i hadnt even left any feedback I mailed him and told him to take it off of which again he went on with himself. Anyway the point i am making is i phoned ebay who accessed my account and looked at the messages etc ,deleted the feedback and sent me a copy of the mail they then sent him. The thing is they dont tolerate the abuse and language some pricks send people..... the seller then sent a message to apologise. All good fun Pete.

He does try though like the 1862/1 thats maybe a little expensive

You wont be able to remove toning (it is what it is ) without making the coin look worse as a proof and will not benefit from being dipped IMO. Unless someone else has some other idea

A serious question ......Why do you think it would be worth something or more than 1p as you went to the trouble to post ?.
-
I have with the help of two forum members put together a set of the £2 coins and would like to thank them both again . However i am only missing one so thought i would try here before buying it from ebay. Just need a 2002 commonwealth IRELAND. Please PM me if you have a spare thats in nice condition and i will pay you straight away.....At a fair price Pete.
-
Thats the £2 completed ,might have to start on the 50p now

Probably the Mary Rose and the Charles Darwin although a few look ok Dan. The slave trade one i think is Rang . Not really looked at them before receiving them all and some i dont think i have ever seen in change. I also did not realise there were so many and found the Check your change site usefull. Pete.

Looks that way Rob although i dont have a clue about them , the two forum members both had loads between them and didnt have duplicates of this one. Plenty on ebay but thought i would ask here first

Big hat off to Rob think a fantastic future reference . I posted here as did not want to disrupt the thread and find really interesting. Be good if anyone can add others

The only book is the latest Freeman that has the updates of some recent ones including the two you mention. The biggest finds are the ones nobody knows about and people perhaps are looking for
-
I dont think so Terry (i cant see any ) although its sometimes hard to check as it depends as to what they may describe it as Just the 1860 there are over eighty varieties.
-
Good find and hat off Was only talking about these on Saturday to a mate and the english grading company now slabbed three.
-
There is also a doubled 9 1897 variety.
