Royal Mint Experience (Visitor Centre)
PWA 1967 replied to Stuntman's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
That explains it thanks Bernie. It confused me as the bronze were buns / lighthouse (so not 1853 ) and the set displayed as 1893 with the silver as mentioned earlier dates. -

The proof set in the sheild is 1893 to me ,but happy to be shot down -
Yes the 1932 a lot harder and at that grade must be really nice and a good buy

Your not missing anything Jaggy its a nice coin but of a relatively common year and i cant see anything special. I think its more to do with it being MS65RD that seems to fetch a premium and would be suprised if it went for anymore. The price for the English graded one in 85 is £75.

Interesting Ebay scam
PWA 1967 replied to secret santa's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
This is daft and not a crime or a scam. Someone sells SIX suirrel 50p things and some christmas pudding covers and members of the forum kick off. Hardly crime of the century total of £12 and worth £3 and some feedback from others was ok. How do you know the seller is not on holiday or the coin is not lost in the post. Richard was the follower so had clicked himself ............then removed it also. I hope for the sellers sake the coin turns up and gets an apology as they getting greif on here and i dont think thats fair. I am being as HONEST about this as i can and dont like anyone getting a slating as always two sides to every story. Just because the seller has not replied does not mean they are guilty but could be ill, hospital, holiday. All over a coin for £2.................. The £2 the buyer got back so all ends on a happy note -
The Spink book 1968 Linecar & Stone. Hard back in good condition. Crowns 1658-1960 £10 including postage. Pete.

Help - How Best to Sell my Large Collection of UNDATED 20p COINS
PWA 1967 replied to a topic in Beginners area
I have a mate with a family business that around that time had hundreds of machines. Him and his brother looked through thousands and never found one. Maybe around that time a lot of people were looking for them before they spent them. There is an article in the daily mirror today about a £2 and again probably lots of people are probably checking them. I have not got a £2 coin to look at -
Crown 1934 - Grading Competition
PWA 1967 replied to The Coinery's topic in Confirmed unlisted Varieties.
Although i am only using CGS prices the standard and proof graded 85 are the same. Not a lot of difference in prices for ones graded below. Although they have graded 4 proofs against 45. -
