Rather expensive. Is it perhaps an 8?
-
If you look at the total cost including postage Rob, there is no way on earth a 1935 scrappy looking florin is worth over £15.....not on my watch anyway.
-
Talking about scrap....i better look back through my pile with prices like these on ebay...... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1935-Great-Britain-Silver-One-Florin-9802/362107292774?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160727114228%26meid%3D6603e8e97f0749b6b6aa19be5c2bbc76%26pid%3D100290%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26mehot%3Des%26sd%3D362107292774&_trksid=p2060778.c100290.m3507

You,ve got me paranoid about coins with heart shapes on them being fake now Stuart. I,m seeing them everywhere!! This one just caught my eye going through ebay...is it just my imagination? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1566-Queen-Elizabeth-1st-Sixpence/192305602915?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649????

Hi. Can anyone tell me if there were two different types of 1757 George II Sixpence or are there fakes of this coin? Only i have this one and it has the heart shape you see on fakes on the shoulder. Also the middle line at the top of his shoulder is a V shape instead of straight up and down. Thanks.

Looks a bargain now at £2 or best offer. ?

What a strange description!! Reported it too. ?

I missed out on this 1890 Queen Victoria double florin earlier. Can anyone tell me what the signature is above the J E B which i haven't noticed before? Thanks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1890-Queen-Victoria-Double-Florin/222639149325?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Thank you for the info Rob. Good to know we have knowledgeable chaps on here like yourself to keep us right, which is always appreciated. Personally i could not have distinguished this from the real thing. But then again, i wouldn't spend that amount on a coin from ebay.
-
Oh yes Stuart, i see what you mean now with the heart. Why do you think they do this with the fakes, that tell tale sign with the heart shape?
-
Lol nor me...who started this thread? ?

Any ideas how to make this coin a bit more aesthetically pleasing looking? The toning looks bad around the nose area.

Hi. Has anyone recently seen the amount of fake or copy kew gardens are on sale on ebay just now? People are paying top dollar for these coins which can be picked up at any car boot sale for £1. Its against ebay policy to sell fakes so why is the place riddled with them amongst others!! Only yesterday i seen one being sold at auction, obvious fake, but wait for it...in some homemade slab!! Sitting at £81 when i seen it plus i noticed there had been 8 enquiries about it (obviously people telling him it was fake). Well, i seen red and fired in a bid of £110 to make sure i won the coin. I then never paid for it and politely informed the seller it was a fake and would like to cancel the sale. He did reluctantly cancel it saying he never had a clue it was fake...yeah right!! Maybe this is the way to beat the scammers if we could get more people on board.

A close up picture. ?

The description ?.

Keep up the good work Stuart. I,ve also been reporting them when i see them on this thread. As you said, the more people reporting it the better. It also lets me see the dodgy coins before i jump in with 2 feet!!
