    Re: Real??

Hi again. Latest on ebay. I telephoned ebay this morning. Nice girl who i dealt with and had a bit of savvy about her. When i pointed out to her where the word copy had been partly erased, and pointed her to Dorchester coins site (thanks Tom) she agreed with me that it was a fake and reversed the ruling, giving me a full refund, as the description never mentioned copy or fake. Although she did say that their policy is usully not to go by photographic evidence. I,ve left the seller omega2 nice feedback for the fake. Thanks for all your help. Regards. Kevin

    Re: Real??

Good morning guys. Well, eventually received the ruling from ebay this morning. Would you believe they ruled in favour of the seller? With a small footnote stating that the seller described the item accurately. Case closed. I am on holiday just now but they have not heard the last of this. More later.

    Re: Real??

P.s. Did you see his other ĺistings? Cow & sheep teeth......found while out metal detecting. .....i asked him whether the teeth had fillings to be able to find them!! Then again, the faker that he is, they are most probably his own teeth!!

    Re: Real??

Hey guys....what a talented bunch of friends to have. Thank you!! Yes Jerry,Tom & Co it was Omega3 that i purchased this coin from. He says his imaginery friend is rather upset that i called him a fraudster. ..ooopss!! He won't accept a return, but ebay are always on the buyers side. It may take a couple of weeks for a refund but fortunately i am in no hurry. Its not the first time i have purchased a forgery that i knew of, to save some person being robbed. Ebay always refund me. Yes PWA (sorry i will hopefully get your names right eventually ) i buy milled coins and resell them, not always at a profit i may add and with whatever profit i make i reinvest it into a hammered coin. As you said i should stick to what i kind of know and not go walking in blind buying hammered coins and hoping everyone is honest. I think i have about a dozen of these coins and i will post them on here over the next few days. Hopefully they are ok because they are well past there return date.It is much appreciated you taking the time to look at my coins. Thank you all again. Kind regards. Kevin. .. (sorry but when it asked for a user name i never realised it was supposed to be my real name!!)

Hi again. Does anyone know what this coin is? I only bought it out of curiosity. It weighs approximately 6.3 grams and has a diameter of 21mm. Thanks in advance. Regards.

    Fake Roman coins

I have an old friend who sells Roman coins on ebay (not my thing). He is would you believe, 90 years old. ...nearly as old as some of his coins!!! He only purchases his coins from reputable auction houses and all his coins have a lifetime guarantee. ...though at 90 years old.... His seller name is cott2556 and i,m sure if some of the specialist in this field had a look at his site, they would vouch for his coins. Hope this helps.

    Re: Real??

Gosh!! Thank you guys. I purchased it from ebay last week. I had a niggling doubt about it, what with the porousness and it just didn't seem to have that silver noise you here when you drop it. I can see the copy sign now that it has been pointed out to me!! I only wonder how many of the rest of my hammered coins are fakes, ten or so in total. Anyway i cannot thank you guys enough. I will get on the case for a refund. Kind regards.

    Grading coins.

Thanks guys. Yes those were the words i was trying to think of when trying to grade it....eye appeal!! Its actually a lot darker than the picture from which i bought it. But i am happy enough with it at the price. If it can come up any lighter with your idea Peckris then all the better.

    1902 Edward VII halfcrown. Proof?

Thats a nice coin Paulus!! The shiny side on my coin was a bit of a put off after reading the comments, so i,ve sold it for £125, which is still reasonable considering the quality of the coin. I will wait until another comes along that has not been polished. Some people!! Polishing a matt proof coin uugghhh!! Thank you all once again for your valued help.
  21. Hi guys. Can any of you tell me if this 1902 Edward VII Halfcrown is a proof coin or not? One side is shinier than the other What sort of grade would you say it was? Thank you.

    1902 Edward VII halfcrown. Proof?

Yes, i just purchased it last week. I seen from the pictures that one side was shiny when i bought it. I may just sell it on. I think i will maybe get more than the purchase price. I will sell it as is and not have you guys cringing at the thought of me polishing the other side. On the other hand....is there anything i can use to dull the shiny side down?

    Is this a replica too?

Hi. Is this a replica or has it been cleaned with an abrasive? Thank you.
