Hi. I have this very dark toned 1905 Edward VII sixpence. I have been reading on the forum about people cleaning these coins with silver dips. I was under the impression that cleaning coins was a big NO. What do you guys think...leave it or give it a dip? If so what is the best silver dip to purchase? Thank you.

Do you think its worth cleaning the other side?

Hi. Can any of you guys tell me if this is a proof coin or just normal and approximately how much is it worth? Thank you.

Errrr.....i might just leave it as is Vicky. By the time i buy that lot i will be out of pocket.I don,t think the coin is worth very much. But thanks very much for your advice.

Great find. Tony Claytons price guide puts this at £150 in fine condition!! -
I purchase most of my coins through ebay. Luckily only a couple of duds in hundreds slipped through the net, as you said, the ones with blurry pictures. I even had an undated 20p with the date filed off!! So stay away from dodgy pictures and go with sellers with good feedback and clear pictures. Whether the seller states he accepts returns or not, under ebay policy if your not happy it can be returned. As 1967 states in the previous post, if your looking for a high end coin, its maybe worth looking elsewhere if it at all looks suspect.

You will get more than £4 for your two commonwealth £2 coins. I,m afraid the rest of them are not worth more than face value.

What do you dip the coins in that does not do much damage?
-
Thank you for this information. Much appreciated.

Hi. I use Tony Claytons coin price guide which i find quite useful. Are there any more coin price sites that i can compare prices with? Thanks.

You certainly jumped in at the deepend with that one. Looks like its came off a charm bracelet and not intended to dupe anyone. Ask for a refund.

Thanks buddy.

Have any of you guys seen one of these 1693 William and Mary halfpenny replicas?
-
Thanjs Michael. I did stumble across this site, way back when i bought this coin last year. Same old story, blurry picture on ebay, thinking i,m getting a bargain, the greed got the better of me. The seller was most apologetic and issued a refund and told me just to keep the replica coin.

Yes and one of his thieves tried to steal my cash!!

Thanks. I will leave it as is. If circulated as Rob says, what kind of grade will it be? I can only see a couple of very small scratches, one in the beard and one on the head. Rims are still quite high. Thanks.

It is app 31mm x 12.83g.

Hey Craig...don,t keep us in suspenders....how did the story end??

Thank you. Much appreciated.

Hi. Is there anyone here who specialises in old medals? I purchased this one a few weeks ago and could not find anything to compare prices with. Has anyone any idea of the value? I know its not in great condition. Thanks in advance.

Just what appear to be scrapes going in the one direction Rob. I am wary of selling it just in case it's a fake. Although its not much to look at.
