I have actively searched for these coins seeing as the farthings had the Roman I for 1 and a few of our silver denoms had them. Well about 3 years ago I found 1 wasn't in too bad condition VF . Sold it and have looked for another since then. At last I have located a 2nd 1826 halfpenny with roman I for 1 . Fom memory it looks the same as in the style and boldness as the one I sold on. This one not in as good a condition but nevertheless it's a rare coin be interested to know if any of you guys hold one in your collections

1826 Half Penny Roman I for 1
zookeeperz replied to zookeeperz's topic in Confirmed unlisted Varieties.
I wanted a near mint version. Coins never stay long with me. I think I have said before I am a kind of go between finding the best homes for coins that would otherwise just rot in a tin somewhere. Of course a few extra quid never hurts . But I know all the coins I have moved on and some are members from here have ended up in the correct collections in my mind. My only trouble is letting them go lol which sounds daft. I still have a few irons in fires some unlisted oddities still to surface. I catalogue them then as I search and search they go in to that draw called safe keeping and probably never surface again. Until I remember where safe keeping is -
I'll post this here seeing as my original thread got ganked by a business tout I only know of 1 other that is because I owned it. But sold it on a few years back. Been actively searching for another in a really nice grade but alas so far have not found any and this one is the only one I have found in the few years gap. Unlisted variety and should really be confirmed as I owned this and 1 other. Obviously quite rare 1826 Half Penny with Roman I for 1

I click anything. Got more protection than MI5 lol. I guess it would depend on the link title. Obv if onedrive is in the make up I would think it's safe but from a poster with no previous posts I would air on the side of caution and let some dumb sod like me click it

-
Well I think its been struck on a straits settlement 5 cent FWIW that is part of the gothic crown and resembles nothing on our threepence

zookeeperz replied to singlemom29's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
I think that was a case of if you can see it you are a better judge than me picture lol ? -
15956* 99% rating. Are we not safe anywhere now or is this a case of seller ignorance?

That is so funny he doesn't even know what his label stands for. PCCB professional coin supplies and professional coin display None really convincing wonder if the B stands for BS

Damn did I miss Amanda . Oh well onwards and err onwards
-
good idea but they we get the grey area of "oh i selected the wrong box" . Hard to prove but very easy to exploit to a certain degree . Habitual misuse would raise red flags but damage is done by then but I guess we need to start somewhere
-
yes he is totally flouting with ebay's explicit description criteria. If it is a replica/fake it must be in the description. Putting a lowball price whilst yes should raise a red flag it does not cover the seller for his ambiguity and really at the end of the day does nothing to enhance his reputation.
